So 5 months is too new for a frogspawn??? If I move it higher for now (until I get new lights) do you think that will help? OR should I just leave it alone....and hope for the best..I can not put it back in the 54g because their are seahorses in it. Like I mentioned above, it was doing great under the same type of lighting. (and it is not magic)
It won't survive under the lighting you have in your bigger tank, so you have to move it. Whoever told you that it would survive under that little amount of lighting was incorrect. It was able to live in your 54 because the lighting wattage you had was sufficient in that tank for this type of coral. If you don't find a suitable environment for it soon it will certainly be beyond help. Sorry to say it, but it's true.

Yes I know watts per gallon is outdated, but i dont care what kind of PAR your fixture has 1.5 watts per gallon isnt going to cut it.
And yes depending on how the tank was seeded and whats going on in the tank, how many fish, inverts etc.. 5 months can be a very new tank.

not going to even start this argument about lighting...there are way to many factors to take into account.. depth of tank and shape of tank are big ones

Sometime soon I am going to order the outer orbit MH/T5/wmoonleds...1084WATTS
I have been told that will be good for my tank.(and coral and anemones)..Please tell me that is true??
ALSO....How long do you think my frogspawn will last under the 384W lighting I have now? (I'll get the light sooner if needed)

Somewhere in your other thread, I must have been confused with your lighting - I thought you had the lights over 54 gallons.

Unless the light is concentrated over the frogspawn in the 225, then you will need more light. Frogspawns can likely go for quite a while with subdued lighting, but it would be best to upgrade (or suplement, etc) the lights ASAP. Do be sure to acclimate the coral to the new lights.

No Problem, The thing is I have also been told by really reputable people that the lighting was sufficient....this is why I am so confused.
I do plan on getting MH/T5/moon leds 1084W. I was thinking after the holidays, but now maybe I should get them sooner.....Hopefully within the next 2 weeks. Do you think the Frogspawn will be ok for a couple of weeks? Or should I move faster getting the light?

I would get them soon - or use/borrow/buy some additional lighting that you could use to just focus on the frogspawn.

If you have a firend with a good set up, or if you local LFS will hold it for you in the mean time that will help out your FS until you can get the lighting.

Maybe you could just figure out a way to put it back in your other tank in a way to protect the seahorses??

Can you move it up in the tank? I think it would do fine if it was a lot closer to the lights, make sure it's not getting blasted with flow or anything. Are there other corals in this tank? Have you checked your salinity, temp, alk and calcium? Without enough light it should be stretching and bleaching out, not staying closed. Ignore any watts per gallon crap, the corals don't know how many gallons of water they are in, what matters is the intensity of the light and how far they are from it.

I had to go out of town for a few days, and when I got back the FS looked horrible...very wilty....I moved it up about 4 more inches....I ordered my new light today, MH W/T-5 W/blue led's 1084 watts...should be here in a week....I am very undecided on whether to move the FS to my other tank until it arrives, or keep my fingers crossed that it makes it another week...
OH...all water parameters are excellent....
