one piece of equipment, what would it be?????
As i sit here watching the news, Hurricane dennis is heading my way, I will most likely loose power, and be running a a generator. . I will only be able to run one piece of equipment, so i can run a fan to keep us cool.
Should i run my hob skimmer, hob filter, or hob refuge., or power head or canister filter

A pumppowerhead is the most important item....You need to have water movement for gas exchang..

I agree .... you also might want to have a cooler for ice. You can float the ice in zip lock bags to help keep the water temp down. Maybe even a couple of battery operated fans to blow across the water surface. It's still early, hopefully it won't hit you!
Good Luck :D

If you have a gen, you can run two powerheads. One PH on the bottom of tank, and one hiting the very surface. You have a lot of money invested, more than what's in your fridge, so take care of it!
Where do you live? I'm in Tallahassee, with my family still in the Fla Keys!

If you do the math you'll see that that doesn't work for medium - large tanks.

Nope. Unless doing something makes you feel better.
