If you had your choice/ gramma or 6 line?

I would be very careful with your 6-line. I had one for 2 years and everything was fine. Then he attacked and killed my royal gramma. A few months later, I came home from work to find him swimming around the tank with my cleaner shrimps antennae in his mouth, and a badly mauled shrimp dying at the bottom of the tank. Later that night, he started attacking my clownfish! So that was it, out he came. I took him back to the LFS for store credit. I was in the store later that week and they had him in the same tank. When he saw me at the glass, he flared out all of his fins, then swam over to a hermit crab, ripped it out of it's shell, bit it in half and casually swam away looking for more victims.
People say they are cool fish, and I did enjoy mine, until he turned into a pure incarnation of evil! I will never own a 6-line again. I vote you take yours back and get a gramma.

Man, I felt so positive after Dogstar's post. Now
I was all excited about maybe trying another type of smaller wrasse in there which I had ruled out before. But perhaps I shouldn't push my luck either way.

ophiura, I got them both at the same time and have had them in my 180g. reef for over two years. One grew larger than the other and I dont know if that means anything like ones male or what but they dont bother each other or anything else other than the micro worms, pods, ect that they feed on all day. :happyfish :happyfish

LOL! I stopped by Pet City last night, the guy said he ordered 2 Six Lines. he told me to call or come by at 3pm today. I call him a few hours ago, oh I dont know, around quarter past 3, and asked him if they came in. He said nope lol. Once again, no Six Line Wrasse!!!

Okay, update on the fish choice. Water has been great and I got my new lights last night. I have a PS on order so I bought my last fish...6 line!! I absolutely LOVE him. He is so much fun to watch and he even makes the others in the tank more animated. BUT...why didn't any of you tell me that the 6 line makes a cocoon at night to sleep in?!! When I woke the next morning I thought he was dead. :scared: Thank God for this site. I ran upstairs and searched and finally found a thread that explained it. Now that I know this, it's WAY cool! Thanks for the direction and advice everyone. Here are a few pics of the newest, and last for a long time, and my very modest...and growing, fish tank.
Ant. :joy:
