The more I read about them, the more I am convinced they are just saying things and going after people because it contradicts "conservative ideologies".
The fact is, if large numbers of human lives are at stake on a fairly regular basis, then that should more or less trump any "civil liberties" argument (within reason of course) that comes across.
This whole backscatter thing that they would like to have at the airports is a fine example.
So yeah, they can see your private areas. And by "they", I mean a very small group of people who will see you, and 99.98% of the time, when there is nothing suspicious, you walk right on through, and your image disappears forever.
How exactly does that violate ones civil liberties?
And on the off chance that they do see something, they just potentially saved hundreds of lives, and billions of dollars. It all seems to make perfect sense to me...
