Scabbing usually does not occur for at least 7 days then the are very thin not thick. If you get thick scabbing that is a sign of potential scarring. You will know when you start to scab because the itching that comes along with the scabbing. I slap mine to sooth the itching. It is effective without ruining your ink. All my tattoos still look great, my first is 20 yrs old.
