I played doom since the very 1st game where they had sprites instead of fully animated 3d monsters. The game really has come a long way and I hope the movie is good. Let us know what you think.

I have played doom since the first game as well, and I prefer the old games.....the recent one is awesome, though but the old games are hard to beat.

I started with Wolfenstein 3D and made my way through the Doom's loved those games, id like to hear whats its like but I anticipate its not going to be great. The Rock can suprise you sometimes, but usually he has a good cast with him...

I started with Wolfenstein also and played all the Doom's. My favorite to this day is still Duke Nukem. That was the ultimate 3D shooter of it's day.

So did Catman get lost at the movies? Or did he fall asleep at the theater and decided to spend the nite in his chair?

well now for my review!
If you played the game (*you MUST of played the game be fore seeing this movie*) you will think this movie is awesome! I loved the first person view. Though they put way to many zombie people instead of the main doom monsters, the only doom monsters in the movie were the HellKnight, Imp, and that dog thing. If you never played the game you think its the randomest retarded movie ever. VERY VERY GORY!!! BILLIONS OF CUSS WORDS! DONT BRING YOUR 10 YEAR OLD KID.
i give it the movie a 4/5 just because love doom and the movie was JUST LIKE the game, best videro game movie yet
Go see it

I'm going this afternoon ***) , so I'll let you know if I agree with your review.
So far, the non-gamer reviewers think this movie is pretty bad.

Remember in Duke Nuken when you shot the hookers, they exploded in a shower of blood and dollar bills? lol
Anyone remember the shareware Duke Nukem by Apogee Games? It was a side-scroller that you could download free from BBSs?

SPOILER!!!
Well, as said here, the move is strictly for Doom fans, and only if you have played D3, otherwise, you'd be wasting your money.
Its not scary at all, which is bad since Doom is a creepy game with non-stop nail bitting scares. The movie has an R rating, so why not go all the way with it and make it SCARY!! It does have a lot of the elements of doom. They got the marines characters right, the uniforms, even the setting for Doom3 was right on the money with this movie. The only monsters I saw was Pinky, Ims and zombies.
In the last reel of the movie you actually got to see 1st Person action which was really cool. It looked like the game only on the big screen. COOL. The ending was so bad, though. I fully expected to see The Rock transforming into a Hell Knight, but instead it was lame as it can get.
The movie was like a PG-13 trailer of Doom3.
If you are a Doomer, however, it was worth just going to see all the sets of Doom3 on the big screen. I just can't believe that they messed up by not showing more monsters, NO HELLKNIGHT! And a very poor ending. Instead of a climax, which would have saved the movie, it was lame Ole The Rock turning into something before he gets blown up.

yes, the end was dissapointing. They did however show the hellknight, it was that one monster who fought that one black dude in the holding place with the elctric walls
