Maybe your school has some exchange students from Uranus who were offended by the shirt... Bet no one thought of that!

before looking at the shirt, I read the post and was fully prepared to lay into you with, "you need to grow up and realize what's offensive", etc etc. then I looked at the shirt. wow, there's nothing at all offensive with that. YOU didn't name a planet "Uranus", that was done by someone else. if some scientists choose to give a planet a name that BEGS to be made fun of, then that's not your fault. I'd wear it everyday if I were you and tell the guy you're going to sue if he takes the shirt.

The Principal, and Vice Principal have both seen this shirt, as well as many teachers that thought it was funny..
I know of 3 other people at my school that this shirt..
So what do you all think:
Stand up for my rights to be able to wear a simple T-shirt..
or
Just let it go, and put the shirt deep in the back of my closet?
Must be one of the few schools where they haven't made uniforms mandatory.

The message is good, it's saucy, not dirty, nothing wrong with that. I don't think there is really anything your principle can do to you unless there is something in the dress code saying no wording on t-shirts at all.
Keep the shirt, it's a good 'un.

wait for like a week (just to not wear it for like 2 days in a row haha) and wear it again. our school has been becoming a bit crazy with stuff like this as well, who knows what will be next. cool shirt, not offensive, savin the planet.......i say wear it often and convince all of your friends to buy it to.

um I'm gonna have to say its not worth it. it's just a t shirt and doesn't seem worth the hassle/grief involved. why pick a fight that's unnecessary???

Frankly I'm offended by the fact that the shirt depicts Uranus with a pigs nose. I like pigs.
Seriously though. I can't readily admit alot of compassion for a student being told not to wear something in school. I come from an age where one would have gotten a good butt whoopin' from the Principal or Dean for acting up. I know, I was at the bad end of a bunch of them.
That being said, where can I get one of those shirts Howardj?

Wise words...
Pick your fights. With everything else in the world right now is this really the cause you want to fight for?

also, another thing to keep in mind - you're going to lose. sometimes in life you just gotta realize everything isn't going to go your way and you just have to suck it up and deal with it. believe me - i deal with it every day at work!

cool shirt! I want one! hehe
I would just not wear the shirt at school. My high school was also very strict with their dress code... I got in trouble for the stupidest reasons.

Just put it in the bottom of a drawer until you get to College... Then most people won't care.
Oh yeah, and no one says you can't wear it after school/on the weekends.

yeah, I know I can wear it after school/on weekends..
But I was pretty ticked that I got in trouble for that.. the thing that made me mad, was that I have worn that shirt a LOT before..
Both principals have seen the shirt and they didn't say anything.
and 6 out of 7 of my teachers loved the shirt and laughed along..

Lol, it's highschool (I take it?), go have some fun. Looking back I wish I had some more fun then what I did. Keep in mind this is the superintendent, he really should have some more important stuff to deal with, then a student with a stupid shirt.
Write the same message on the inside, then wear it again to school. If he askes flip it, obviously you can't. If he askes to call your parents to deliver a new one, but are suck at work and you dunno their new numbers. If then force you to take a shirt they have, you could even take it up a step and bring a skin irritate in, and fake a rash on your shoulder or something. That would get him scared real fast lol.
