Then they somehow look dumbfounded about it, scratching their heads and wonder why people come down on them soo hard. Plus not to mention, that as you said they dont listen anyways. They then go post the problem again, in another room, hoping that someone will side with them. Being that all they really are looking for is someone to be on their side to say that it wasnt a bad choice to buy that fish or something to that sort. Or how about the ones that know that particular fish dont do well in small tanks but say they bought it and that they will eventually are going to upgrade but not now, they dont have any money to do so. (and yet they had money to buy the fish) I understand that this is a place to learn something about aquariums and reef keeping, but if they ask and insist on ignoring the advice thats given and their ignorance needlessly kills a fish, they should be banned. They are certianly not interested in getting educated or have any respect for the livestock and its requirements, but more in here to see what others think and have the "well, i am going to do it anyway" attitude. These are the same people that after a few months/years, give up and say that everythign died and the store sold them sick fish or didnt tell them that it didnt get along with the fish that they already have. They throw the blame on others instead of looking in the mirror and taking responsibility for their stupidity. Not to mention the people that come in right behind you and try to discredit your statement that someone may have asked and you have given an answer to but yet, failed to give any advice themselves. Its as if they bash it because when "they" tried it, it didnt work for them, so it must not work. Its also amazing to see that those same people have aquariums much like the ones in the photos or are in other rooms asking the questions 'will this fish get along with the fish i just bought?" or I cant figure out why evrything is dying in my aquarium, all i have is 7 fish in a 30 gallon" something to that effect....You know, the same people we are talking about.....
Whom exactly are we talking about? You started this thread about a tank that was so "horrible" which could be easily corrected. You charge $50/hr to clean this tank, now you are rambeling about people that are on this site that make mistakes and ask questions. Did you find this picture online or is it a friend of yours'? That tank doesn't look like it is in a store to me being there is a cabinet right next to it and some crap hanging on the wall. I have no problem at all with people that ask questions. People make mistakes. The only way to go forward after the mistake happens is to correct it as best you can and not to repeat the mistake.

How was that persons house? If they let a tank get that disgusting I cant imagine the bathroom or kitchen. That is just nasty and inhumane. I feel so bad for any animal that is in there.

A goldfish tank can get that way quite quickly. It is algae. Goldfish let off so much waste it is an open buffet for algae. It just needs to be kept in check.

I read the post completely. Please tell us how you would correct the situation of a goldfish tank with excessive algae. Have YOU read this entire thread? If you don't think this is a troll then read it again. Let us know what you think with your infinite wisdom.

A goldfish tank does not get that way quickly it would take some time and neglect to get that way sepulation.
I have had goldfish tanks for 20 years and it would take neglect to get to that degree.

I just got a chance to see what others have posted and I must say, SEPULATION, I think you need to re read and understand what I was writing. Not only that, but you said " A goldfish tank can get that way quite quickly" Well for your information, it wasnt a goldfish tank so come up with another brilliant answer. I was there and you were not. Plus, I took the first picture and I saw the water line marks. Your wrong, it doesnt happen quickly.Maybe on the tanks YOU have had wich tells me, you have no idea what you are doing. You obviously didnt see all that gunk build up in the corners of the tank in the gravel. Are you still saying that THAT happens really quickly. And for the record, I have seen your pictures of your aquariums on that link. You need to add water to yours as well and your tanks arent that impressive. Which goes back to what I tell customers, "dont take advise from peole wtihout seeing what their tanks look like. Tell me again why your an EX OWNER of an aquarium store! Wondering if you were the owner of that tank..hmmm

It's ok, everyone makes a reading comprehension error every now and then.
I realize you have spent a TREMENDOUS amount of time padding your post count to impress people but it still doesn't give you the right to call people liars when you misread their post.
I dont understand why you are convinced he is a troll considering, despite your post count, YOUR tank(from your own website pics!) barely looks better than what he posted

This is a bussiness's tank who asked us for a price qoute today. Not as bad but.....can you believe thats in public view. How sad!!!!
The first one was a house, the second two were of a business tank. The thread was about these tanks and then John was gong on about people on here buying fish without research. It looks like a thread started just to enrage people which is why I said it looks like a troll. You are right though, I should not have jumped on him about it. Maybe I am wrong so John, I apologize. SUDC, I don't know what your problem is with my post count, nor do I realy care.

For your information the store is still going strong. I left it, my husband is still there. I just got done apologizing for jumping to the conclusion that you were a troll. It looked that way to me. There is a huge goldfish in the picture. Goldfish are messy. If the filtration is not adequate or sunlight is hitting the tank it will get that way if it is not properly maintained. It is completley fixable without much work.

well this thread went downhill quickly.
Guys remember calling anyone any names is grounds for banning and insulting someone is right there with it. If you have nothing nice to say PLEASE do not say it there is a thread in the new hobbiest section to report any problem threads. DO NOT take it upon yourself to talk down to someone its only adding to the problem.
This thread is closed because of all the deleted threads in this post!!!!
