A gun is a gun (Tank Johnson), and crack is crack (Michael Irvin). Shawn Merriman is just as bad for abusing steroids. I don't care if you are white, black, orange, or green.
He "corrected" the problem???
Not so sure about that. Given his injuries recently not to mention his profession, i have a very hard time believing that he hasn't been using pain killers for the last 10 years. I dont think even he claims that he no longer uses them. Never heard of an addict going into rehab, getting clean and then casually using for the next 10 years :notsure:
Not sure how him squeezing another year out of Green Bay is being a role model but i'd like to see his charitable contributions with time and money and see if they are greater than what Irvin does for Dade County youths.

Since when is Hydrocodone similar to Cocaine?
Possession of Hydrocodone is the exact same Level 3, 3rd degree felony in the State of Florida as Possession of Cocaine with the exact same maximum penalty of 5 years Florida State Prison.
Just it being prescribed by a Doctor doesn't make it legal. Just ask Rush Limbaugh
There is such a thing as "doctor shopping" to obtain the hundreds a month that addicts require and it is highly illegal. I remember reading that Favre took as many as 20-40 a day. I doubt any single Doctor was prescribing him 600-1200

[hr]
a month. If he was, i'd bet that Doctor is no longer practicing.

"Over the ensuing years, while he established himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Favre suffered several significant injuries and each time treated his pain with over-the-counter pain relievers, such as Tylenol. Vicodin remains in his past, a distant memory from "another life."
There are no more nights out with the boys, at least none that involve drinking copious amounts of alcohol. Favre is a mature family man who has buried his father, stood by Deanna through her bout with

[hr]
cancer and pitched in to help victims of Hurricane Katrina."

LOL!!!
Maybe that is true but i find it humorous that I got flamed in the Bush thread for citing CNN as a reference and had everyone tell me that was liberal garbage and not reliable but i'm supposed to believe his HOMETOWN newspaper??? Whats next, the Kiln Mississippi Sentinel?
You really wanna see the fluff pieces Dallascowboys.com or the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-sentinel have done on Irvin? I'm sure those will change your mind right?

What about the pharmacists that filled the rx's?
Possession of ILLEGALLY OBTAINED Hydrocodone and the possession of ANY Cocaine = 3rd/3 felony. What if they have a bottle of Listerine? It has alcohol in it.

Apples and oranges.

They usually spread them out over different pharmacies to avoid any red flags but i would say the same thing. I cant imagine the

[hr]
board(or whoever they answer to) would be too thrilled to hear that a pharmacist was giving one person 500+ pain

[hr]
a month.

You sure seem to know alot about this.
If they're going to different pharmacies, how can the same pharmacist be responsible?

I'm a criminal defense attorney and used to be a Assistant State Attorney and have handled dozens of trafficking cases involving pain

.
The same one wouldnt be responsible. I was saying that they usually spread them around, if they didnt and the same pharmacist filled all of it, he definitely will get in trouble, at least in Florida.

Legally obtained controlled substances in your possession is not an offense.
It's called a prescription. You cannot say that having hydrocodone in your possession is the same as having cocaine in your possession. As far as I know, you cannot get an rx for cocaine.

Don't worry though, it should take about 5-10 years before your job is completely phased out by software

Not phased out??? Hmmm, wonder how many million do it yourself tax cd's were sold this year? Wonder if that number has increased each of the last 5 years? I'll bet it has

Actually, considering the majority of my practice(and most others) consists of DUI defense, as long as the "other scum of the earth" (as you said!) like President Bush keep getting behind the wheel, I'll be fine

Weird, the only "scum of the earth" you could come up with are black
