Is 10g too small?

I'm going off to the main campus of a big university this fall, and I'm pretty sure the max tank size they allow is 10g for an on-campus apartment. My question is, would such a size be too small for a 2.5 inch false perc clown and a 2 inch four-stripe damsel? I've got a feather duster and a few snails too, and an erupting bubble algae problem on my LR so I may get a few emerald crabs.

I think you will be fine, as long as you keep up with your water changes and have proper filtration, 10 gallons should be plenty.

I think putting two very territorial Damsels of different species into a 10 gallon tank is asking for a fight.

I agree, those 2 fish wouldnt have anywhere to go when they were fighting, they could never get away from one another.

Good point.... the two do get nippy from time to time, but in a 40g tank I don't have any real problems because they've each got plenty of room and their own established territories.

He did say two fish. Clownfish are in the Damselfish family.

Lol. Yes, guys, I have two fish, a clown and a four stripe. And I've only been in SW fishkeeping for a year, but I did think that both were damsels, though I wasn't sure. Is there any kind of fish these guys wouldn't pick on? Neither seemed to bother my recently and mysteriously dead zebra goby much, though the four stripe would flare its fins when the goby got too close.
And for the record, I'm female.

Damsels can be sneaky when they pick. They will often do it when you are not looking. I wouldn't rule him out as the culprit. The clown and a small goby would be alright in a ten. Be sure that the tank is fully cycled and add the goby first.
