Hiya,
If your paramiters on your tank stay where they should be, do you still need to do water changes?

yes, because the essentials elements that the fish need to live off of get depleted over time, and they get added back into the tank with the salt you mix with your water. Don't skimp on the gravel siphoning though. Particles and such can get trapped in the substrate (crushed coral), and your nitrates will spike out of nowhere. That is why most people use sand in their aquarium.

Thanks...I thought that was why the water changes were necessary, but just needed some confirmation.
