*makes a face* I never thought of that before..... if you go to war you should automatically get your liquor license (as it was called in canada) when you came home.

You must be know that I'm kidding, right?
If not, then you need to have a drink to loosen up a bit

No no! Don't defend it, I'm already on my third one thanks to this thread!

I think anyone with kids who doesn't make time for a drink is too stressed out and to frustrated to be a calm directing source in a child's life.

Child rearing 101 by Dr. Grouper:
Spiderwoman...a good stiff libation from time to time is theraputic, and should be administered at times of undue stress.
Scotts...hit the nail on the head. You will be the hero and should be ready to absorb ALL the stories of the day and be supportive. I.E.....allways better with Mom and Dad.
Tizzo....like you need a reason to get all liquored up.

dogfaceman....chill and learn to capitalize.

Aquaknight...good to see you understand the rules.

Cowfishrule...AWSOME taste in Vodka my friend.

El Guapo...who the heck do you think your kidding???

Summary;
Love them younguns.
Monk...never take "no" as an answer. Kids need to understand that they are just that...kids. Doesn't mean you have to beat them (though sometimes necessary) but allthough it sounds crude....it's almost like raising Dogs or any other pet/animal. They truly need to understand and respect who is the Alpha individual. Words with conviction and consistency can do wonders.

And you know what monk? I think it's easier being a single parent when it comes to that! With my first I was single and it was so easy to stay consistent.
Now I hear things like, "But DAD said I could" or "Honey, i told them they can do that until..."
Everything is so unstable wiuth 2 people! We are on the same page, but when we are in different rooms, we don't know what the other is doing.
He says they can have m&m's, and I'm prepping to cook dinner. Stuff like that!
Either way, duct tape em to the wall and get plastered!

I hear that! I have many friends and family who let the kids run the damn house! That crap won't happen in my house. Children need some form of dicipline. I have a 19 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. They both know how to behave in public. You got to start when they are young. It is too late when they are older then they think they rule!

i totally relate to young children being like puppies. once in a while you have to let them know who the dominant person in the home is and it seems like if you don't catch them in the act and whack their nose with a newspaper they just don't get it.....lol
