did they give you names for the corals to match the pics? and were they just 1-10 polyps for that price, or for a big rock covered in em? LOL

Yeah it totally depends on how many polyps there are and size of the sps colony. Those are some sweet looking LPS but WOOF steep price.

I wouldn't pay $1000 for the last two, unless they are 1'x1' colonies.
That Acan lord is reasonable assuming you get 10 polyps or so.

Whats the deal on coral number 3, How overpriced is that?
I ask because I bought one of those that wouldn't fit in a 5 gallon bucket and another purple acro from a local reefer for 65 bux. The blue on mine is more baby blue but the green is identical.

If you have one that won't fit in a 5g bucket you have a thousand dollar coral (to the right person). Thats an AWESOME deal for 65. Should be a few, like 400-500, bucks at least.
Pics please

So you're crazy enough tp pay $600 for 10 polyps for those average acans? Those aren't even rainbows.

People who pay these prices get their money back by fragging. If you would pay $1000 for an expensive pooch, then why not a coral?

Sorry for the thread hijack but I need to get some info on this. I have never seen a coral with this same coloring before and want to figure out if its my particular lighting causing the colors.
I had to under expose the picture a bit to get the blue color to show up but this is close to the blue color. In person the blue is a little more vibrant.

Here's a regular exposure. The new growth that looks white is the color of the blue in the first picture.

This top down pic shows the color decent, especially towards the top of the picture

I know a lot more about lights than SPS corals. When I got this thing it was barely green. It had been under halides which were about a year and a half old. The guy said it was a green staghorn but had lost color because of the old halides.
This is now under 7 normally driven T5's. The Blue is 100% pigment, with just daylight and sun lamps running the blue looks just the same, It took about a month before the first bit of blue showed up. The deep green kinda sneeked up on me. It was pretty brown when I got it.
So anybody know for sure what this thing is?
Thanks and sorry for the hijack.

Please tone down the graphic language.
Look at the benefits of fragging. I think the benefits far outweigh the negatives. The more corals that guy frags successfully, the less that will be pulled from the ocean. Think about if everyone did this. We would no longer need ocean caught corals and we could stop plucking them from the oceans.

Fragging has done a tremendous amount fo good for the hobby and environment; Not to mention the more that are fragged the lower the price gets...
A high price insures only those who know what they are doing purchase a rare and magnificent coral...
