I have to agree here. This does not sound good.

Dan you need to determine if you have white patches in your throat , you will beable to see them ... if you have them you have strept , if you dont have them chance are you just have a sore throat/Cold ..... If you are excessivly vommiting and cant keep anything down and have major body aches with a fever you have the flu ... Allthough I can help with description , it is really best to see your physician so he or she can prescribe the correct antibiotics if it is the flu .... if it is a cold the only thing you can do is drink lots of fluid and take vit C tabs or

[hr]
. Stay away from OJ because of the Acid , it will irritate your throat. Vit C

[hr]
are better and provide more vitamin ... Hope you feel better

No antibiotics for the flu OR for a cold!
Same treatment: rest & fluids.
Strep. throat: throat culture and antibiotics.

Dan, go see a Dr.
People on this forum can't decide what size tank a Tang needs. Do you really want medical advice?

hmmmmm awfull balsy to debate with a 4th year medical student.
Flu most often turns into a bacterial Sinus infection which left unattended long enough can spread to the brain killing the patient. Something an Antibiotic will take care of. Which is why I advised to see his PCP.
Never said their is a antibiotic FOR thge flu. 95% of the time the fluy turns into Bacterial upper respitory infection or sinus infection.
while a cold 99.6 percent of the time stays as a cold. --- information gathered by Cal Berkeley

VERY good idea
Stay away from Paprika. Alot of Doctors say to gargle with it , but it tears your allready tender throat up and makes it worse... Ok to gargle with hot salt water

This is a very bad "something" going around that results in an INSANELY sore throat (I lost my voice...and this was symptom numero uno). I also ended up with a severe ear infection at the same time (so, YES, I was prescribed antibiotics).
