Is this a sea creature from the deep?

That's kind of scary having a species and not knowing what it is or what its capable of.I've never seen anything like that but IMO it looks like some type of nudi but doubt it is.I have a friend that's a marine biologist at the University here.I'll ask him if he knows what it is.Be careful with that thing and keep us posted

I will try to get more pics tonight. I don't know where my rock came from, the fish store....

i guess since its attached to the glass its not a fish... but i still think the pic looks like a leafy seadragon... i know its not, but i got a magezine the other day, and it had the deep sea oddities or whatever, and it shows one in a small pile of leaves, and it sure looks like that.
and dogstar... thats not at all what the pic in the magezine looks like... the pic is a bright green almost yellow.

I have a ton of those in my tank. I always take them out when I see them... I think they are ugly as hell... mine don't stick on the glass.

now that I think about it, it looks like a mangrove root... but those are usually redish orange. So I don't know what it is, but either way, if it doesn't hurt your tank or your eyes, i wouldn't worry.

Below is a diagram of a cirratulid worm in situ as they say (as it would appear in the substrate).
From the paper:
Pardo, E. V.; Amaral, A. C. Z: Feeding behavior of the cirratulid Cirriformia filigera (Delle Chiaje, 1825) (Annelida: Polychaeta) in Braz. J. Biol. vol.64 no.2 São Carlos May 2004

You are not seeing it in the substrate, but I have little doubt that this is what it is you are seeing (a species of cirratulid).
