Is this Lymphocyctis?

Can anyone help me know what this is. I have looked on the website for fin diseases and they all seem to be white spots but these are black. It looks to me like what would happen if you singed something. Will this clear up. Or do I need to QT the fish and treat it with some medication?

Hm, it has all the characteristics of lymph but it is black. I don't think I have ever seen black lymph before.

Yes, that is. How long have you had this fish? And this condition?
I have had the fish for about three weeks now. And it has been there for maybe two weeks that I have noticed it. The fish eats well.

One more thought? could the reason for this appearing on my fish be do to the fact that I have a rather bold Black velvet damsel, a blue devil damsel, and a humu humu trigger? not the most friendly of an environment?! My QT is full of LR right now and I do have the option to transfer the fish out. Do you think with more time they will continue to adjust? and this problem will clear up?

Copperbands are not real tough fish. The environment could certainly be a very big problem. Being that this started a week after you got him, then I am guessing that he wasn't in the best health to begin with. Lymphocystis is a viral infection. It can be spread, but the only fish that are ever effected by it are those with a lowered immune system. There are no medications to get rid of Lymphocystis. You will have to provide optimal water quality and replicate his natural diet. Add a rotation of Vitachem and Zoecon. It really helps.

Thanks, I will go down to the LFS and make sure I have the right foods. I do weekly water changes already. Should I be doing more?

There isn't much more that you can do other than pristine water, low stress, and an optimal diet dosed in a rotation of vitamins. It will not go away quickly. It will take a bit of time for the fish to heal himself.
