i am NO Packer Backer (Im a Bucs fan!!!)... but i do admire and have alot of respect for the greats of the game!!! and Favre is definately one!!! its going to be different to watch a Packers game and not see ol' #4 trying to create amazing plays, mistakes and highlights...

He was definitely one of the best. What in the heck is John Madden going to now though? He was in love with Favre.

Lol, in the 17 seasons Farve has been at Green Bay, da Bears have run through 22 quarterbacks. Wow.... I thought the Dolphins looked bad for a second.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him back somewhere. He looked like he was having too much fun last year. There are a lot of good college QB's coming in this year and probably next. I could see plenty of teams offering him a 2 year deal to let a rookie come in and learn behind him.

Not a Packers but a football fan. The Pack will be fine with Aaron Rogers at the helm. He was a high first round pick a few years ago and looked great in the game in December when he came in for an injured Favre.
Quotes are coming out of Favre's agent that the Packers didn't do enough to keep Favre. Also makes me wonder why he wasn't at the press conference yesterday to announce his retirement, really strange since he and the media have always gotten along.
So if he still wants to play and the Packers basically forced him out, you have to look at teams that are potential playoff contenders that need a QB. He won't play for a scrub team like the Dolphins or Falcons, he would want to get back to the playoffs with his age. The one that pops into my mind right away is the Bears. Oh the Packers fans will riot in front of the Packer front offices for letting Favre go to their biggest rival.

He'll be back, sports people always retire like 5 times before they actually do it for real.
especially since the last throw he made was picked off by the Giants...
i can't imagine him being able to live with that for the rest of his life...

he is definately a top 5 QB of all time!!!
Good quarterback... a definite hall of famer but definitely not top 5 of all time. I can easily name 10 quarterbacks who were better.

Marino, Elway, Montana, Unitas, Bradshaw, (Peyton) Manning, Brady, Theisman, Young... can't think of 1 more.
I'd put Favre in the next tier with Aikman, Kelly, etc.

do it!!!
heres my top:
1 Montana
2 Elway/Farve
3 Marino
4 Brady (although now his rings are suspect)/Manning (by the end of his career will probably be #1)
5 Tarkington/Unitas/Williams/Stabler - all 4 changed the game...
