Aikman??? youre either kidding or a Cowboy fan... going 1 - 15 in a season, NEVER having a QB rating over 100.0, only one season with 20+ TD passes, having as many seasons with more/equal INTs than TDs and losing 6 play off games doesnt count???
but i would guess the 3 rings wipes all of that out... he in my opinion was not a HOF QB... he was surrounded by greatness which in turn padded his stats...
3 Seasons, one being his rookie year the other being the last year. Then random 96 season, the season after the third super bowl. It isn't kind of pointless to throw for a TD when you could had it to emmitt smith at the 5 and run it in. He won 90 games during the 90's, most in a decade in history, threw for 33,000 yards, most for a historic Cowboy quarterback. The guy simply didn't make serious mistakes. He wasn't "sexy" like farve, doesn't have the comebacks of elway. But he took care of business in the first 3 quarters. And that is much more impressive than a crazy come from behind win in my mind.
You know it is funny, you argue that he was surrounded by greatness, people argue that emmitt was surrounded by greatness. I just don't understand who they think greatness is on the cowboys. You must admit as a TEAM they were simple cold ram the ball down your throat team. Greatness is setting up in the eye with the team knowing what is going to happen, and you execute anyway. Greatness is winning 3 Superbowls, (something that only brady, Montana, and bradshaw were able to top). Greatness is not having to come back...
