OK, this is probably going to be impossible...I was just looking in the sump and saw thousand of itty bitty things swimming around....Don't suppose anyone would know what they are...LOL...They are too tiny to get pics..I tried through a magnifying glass and everything .....I don't even know how to describe them

they are actually smaller then the copepods and they swim

Do they swarm? And when you disturb them they split and then all come back to swarm again.... go try.

IDK...I just looked in the sump and saw bunches of these little things...Most had gotten into the return side..that is why I was thinking they are sucked up, plus I can't see that many anymore...The light in the dt is off, fuge is on...they were in the pump side

It's kinda hard since I couldn't get a pic...I tried...

It is quite possible they are copepods...there are loads and loads of types of copepods and many are exceedingly (microscopically) small.

Copepods are found in the water column, on surfaces and between sand grains. Not the same species, but as a group they can be found in many areas.

Yes, but I wouldn't expect copepods to just show up and then be swept away.
