OK...the last 2 days I have bought an MP10wes (for the 29G), just bought a 24" Outer orbit 150W MH w/4 T5HO and moonlights (for the 54G)....ANDDDDDD just ordered the following frags
sour apple pocillopora
sunset monti
tyree true undata monti
Deep water loripes
Sour Apple monti
tyree pink lemonade
blue moon polyps
rpe
WOOHOOO....with the new light coming for the 54G I can start putting higher light corals in there too YAYYYYYYY
STOP BUYING LOIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHA....I'm also looking for a 20" T5 light for my 10G
I don't think I am gonna look until later though (yeah right)

i thought you said you were looking for cheap upgrades. LOL
remember with the 20" t5's, youll be limited in choices for bulbs

LOL...I found them all used

YES, I know that....BUT....I am limited with space above the 10G because it is in a cabinet (or a t.v. stand) LOL
NO RUSH for the 10G lights though....especially since I am getting these new ones for the 54G......I will be able to keep frags in there now too

+1 cant ur husband just hang a 24" fixture above the 10? Just make a hanger out of conduit piping, nike has a great link for this!
You can always send the blue moon polyps this way?!?!

LOL i thought i was bad spending $200 every paycheck. lol its mainly for the free shipping from the supplier lol or so i tell myself that.
At least its not $ at the mall.....

ya ur setup does make it kinda hard! Wat about the flood style lamps? R those only for LED....or maybe some PCs...idk, thats prob wat u already have....btw i dont think uve gone crazy. Just addicted lol

HAHA...Just told hubby about all my "recent" purchases

We think we should hang the new MH unit over the 54G and remove the glass lid.. WE still have a whole sheet of eggcrate, so he will cut it to fit the tank...it is a corner bow :(
HE thinks we could modify the stand for the 10G and use the 24" dual satellite on it....IDK.....a 24" light on a 20" tank....won;t that look weird
I DO NOT want to modify the stand..SOOOO If we were to use the 24" light on the 10G...I would just buy a new stand
OPINIONS....TIPS....welcome

i dont think it would look wierd at all, but then again im a dude. Meowzer its gonna be HANGING not sitting on top hanging over the edges! i havent heard many good things about the corner tanks, im just sayin....btw i was looking into stands for my 10gal and there only like $50, so nothing compared to the motherload uve just got lol. Ur hubby seems to be supporting ur hobby very well!

You are not picturing it.....we are gonna hang the NEW light over the 54G....not worried about weirdness....and YES I hate the corner bow...BUT I have it and have to work with it....LOL
the 10G IN the cabinet is what we (OR HE) would modify....he says he can cut a section in the stand...I SAY WHYYYYYY....if that were the case I woule rather just buy a new stand (with no cover)

no meowz lol, i thought u meant u would hang the 24" fixture over the 10! When u get a new stand or mod the old one of course. This wouldnt look silly at all....imo. I was told to get a 70w Mh for my 10 but i already ordered the LED. Idk i hope it works out for u! Pics are a deff need of course

A Current USA Extreme Pro 20" 6 lamp fixture would fit perfectly on that 10g.
That is what I am running on my 47g column (same width as a 10g).
You will be limited on lamps, as was mentioned, to 10k, 420 and 460nm and only TrueLumen and Aquatic Life brands.
The TrueLumen lamps seem to be pretty darn bright (as measured by Mk1 PAR Estimator)...
Wouldn't a 2 lamp T5 be fine for a 10g? A viper MH would cook that little thing, wouldn't it?
The regular Nova Extreme 18" 2 lamp fixture has some very good reviews for 10g nanos.

Slice I was looking at a used 18"NE...and was told it would not fit a 10G

I TOO think a MH would be a bit much....and 6 lamps may be too.....
