Your welcome
. So back to the question.......whats next!
Lol, well. Next I am trying to find a 55gal tank so I can make a refugium. The sump I have now is crap. It's just a wet/dry that trickles water over bioballs, but i have taken the bioballs out when I first started. But I can't put LR down there since the water just trickles. So all i have down there is my PS, filter pads, and chemipure. So, hence me wanting a refugium.
My hubby's friend has a 55 gallon just sitting in his garage. I offered to buy it from him, but he won't part with it. Why, I don't know. Its just collecting dust. But whatever, I am looking on CL for a used one.
Once i get a refugium set up, I want to start adding more fish and coral. I am slow, i KNow

You know what I would do for now. I would get me a 10 gal tank. Cost you about $12.00. Make your fuge out of that. Once you get that 55 under there you aint gonna have much more then a 10 gal fuge anyway. Just a thought.

Yeah I thought about that. But I am not smart enough on how to figure out how to add another tank into the system. And I also thought about making my fuge out of a plastic bin/tote thing. Again, that not smart thing kicks in. LOL.

You can still put LR in your wet/dry. It would be beneficial!!!
I was thinking about that. I have some dry base rock that I might put in there to cure it. It's more like rubble base rock. I think the water level down there is deep enough to cover some rubble.

Err ummm here it goes. 1 pump to pump water into the tank and another to pump water out of the tank. Thats the glass tank version. Now the plastic version you could do one pump in and a pipe out the side and let the flow go.

I am thinking about adding sand soon....I am not liking the look anymore of the BB. I may ask for sand for Christmas from the hubby. Since he cant think of anything to buy for me anyways. How much should I look into getting? I don't want a DSB, maybe 1.5-2 inches????

60 lbs should put right between 1.5 and 2 inches, according to the sand calculator. If you don't need a DSB, and you don't have any obligate sand feeders in your tank obviously, why do you even need that much? 3/4 inch bed would be enough to look attractive, easy to maintain, and you would avoid potential dead spot areas.
Unless you were planning on adding a burrowing fish or sifting animal, I don't think you need much more than an inch. YMMV, of course....

I don't plan on adding anything to sift the sand. Maybe only snails to maintain it, no sand sifting fish or anything. I may only add enough to make it 3/4 to 1 inch. It's purely for looks. Once I add my refugium, I will make that have a DSB.

How are you planning on getting water to the sump, is your tank drilled?
If not, you'll need an HOB overflow (but I'm sure you already know that).
55g would make an awesome sump. And to think mine is only ten gallons...
What happened to your old 55g?
Get more pics, and more fish (I shouldn't me talking, I've just had two clownfish for three years now).

It's drilled. I have a sump under there now, but all it does is hold my skimmer in it. I took out the bioballs. The old 55 went to the dumpster. It had a small tiny crack and the silicone needed to be replaced. And since I am too lazy to resilicone or put a new pane of glass on, i threw it away.
