Hey good to see you moving forward. Hate to hear about the torch. The fish all look great. I guess you know I lost my LMB. Keep us updated. Good to see ya.
Yeah, sorry about your LMB. That sucks. I am thinking about adding a gramma this weekend. I need some more movement.

Jess,
looks like your rocks lost all the green tint they had after the move.
Any idea what it was or what changed? My rocks have always had that greenish tint to them, i'm thinking it might me greenish coraline, but I dunno
Most of them did lose some of the green. Not sure on that though. I do still have a few pretty green rocks. I am thinking it's green coraline also, it's hard and doesn't scrape off easily.

thats one of the coolest clowns Ive ever seen, neat coloration.
the mushroom looks like a superman mushroom :)
Thanks, I love that clown. She used to be as bright orange as the other one. They didn't have a name for the mushroom at the LFS.

Nice you got skills with a camera thats for sure will have to get you to take pics of my tank lol. Sorry to hear about the torch but look on the bright side I can get you some frags of them if you want. You have seen mine
hehe thanks! I could come over and do that. I love to take pictures. A frag of yours would be awesome! your torch is very pretty
I don't think I've ever seen someone quote so many poeple at once, lol.
I like the Royal Grammas, they are nice little fish. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to keep them alive.
Welcome to page 12!

Ok this is just me thinking out loud. A BB is doable IMO with a carefully planned out refug.its prime function for me at least would be nitrate reduction

I agree. I am lucky to not have a nitrate problem....so far. [knock on wood]. When I do get my refug setup, I want to get REAL LS, not that crap you buy in a bag.
btw, still working on a pro/con list for ya

As much as LR is looked upon as the end all in natural filtration IMO and many more hobbyists much more knowledgeable then I the vast majority of dinitrification via anaerobic bacteria take place within our sand bed. That being said a nice refug with deep sand bed and higher forms of algae should allow you to maintain a BB (umm I am talking about your tank of course
). I would look into painting the bottom of your tank if you are going BB a nice dark blue will give you a nice appearance of depth I believe

Lol, yes, BB as in my tank. I would paint the bottom, but, I have 100+ lbs of LR already in my tank. Don't feel like taking it apart to paint the bottom. I already have coraline growing on the bottom glass. I am not too worried about it. I am actually trying to get a 55 gallon tank from a friend of mine. it's sitting in his garage collecting dust. I do plan on a deep SB in the fuge, once I can get a tank to build it. I am pretty poor right now. I am saving up for a trip to NYC this march. So, I am on a tight budget right now. Hopefully i can get that free tank from the friend =)

Well a 55 would give you a lot of room for sump / fuge. I would ask until your friend caved in. PWEEZE with all the trimmings.

Yes it would. I begged my hubby to ask him today (it's his friend) and he said he will think about it. But if he did give it to me, it would be free. So I am hoping he caves!!!! I cannot wait to set up a fuge. My husband said it sounds like he is going to part with it. He just needs to make up his mind already!! lol

well, nothing new!! I haven't heard back about that tank :(
But, I went diving in my tank last night with an underwater camera. Don't know how safe it was for the tank, but I got some super up close pictures!!! And the color is way off, too bright looking.
Newest mushroom fully opened up

acan echinata (not looking so hot right now)

and apparently I didn't save the other pictures to my computer. Oh well.

Cool pics. I wouldnt worry to much about the camera unless it has some toxins on it that would crash you tank
I go diving in my tank all the time with my video camera. Corals look nice.
