Anyone??? Well its the next day and it has settled down a lot but not all the way, so attached a back filter on it hoping to get rid of the rest. I'm going to get started on the refuge now and get it going. I'm all excited about getting this set up so I'm going to get just keep posting updates. If anyone is interested. So far there has been no action on this post.

well I cut my power heads on then a vortex started up and sturid it all up again. Is this going to be a problem with sand for now on anytime I tuch it I have cloudy water. What type of filter do I need to put on there to clear itup? AlsoI was just going to let it be a natural filter system without outside filters but I dont know. I was going to seed the sand bed with all the right little critters. Do you think I should add a wet/dry filter or not. I dont guess my Skimmer will clean this cloudyness up will it? This is what it looks like now before the power filters came on?

could u post a pic of ur sump/fuge. I'm gonna make a DIY sump/fuge in March(My B-Day$$$$$$:D ) and just wanna c what other ppls look like.

Yes Ican the refug is a little cloudy at the momment so here is a pic before the water was added.

now set up. Left side sump area with skimmer. Nothing is running in the refugium area at the momment untill everything settles

i moved my 55 into my hundred.only had l/s and l/r from my 55.so i put it all in there.then added some dead sand,the rest of the water,brand new from the lfs.also put 3 bags of biospira in with it.only casualty was a cleaner shrimp,i think form the temp change....took about 5 hours to do

I have just layed the live rock in there letting it cure at the momment do you hink it will be ok?

Is that a new batch of LR? Or is it from your 55 gal. If it's a new batch you might as well throw in a shrimpor two and get it cycled. Other wise it's cured already and is going to get the sand going in it's cycling process.

it is a new batch. are you meaning a couple of live shrimp or dead shrimp and if you mean live shrimp what kind do you should I get. Peppermint

Are you planning on adding more LR to your tank? Or just transfering what you have in the 55 into it? If you are planning on more liverock I would suggest doing it now before the tank is completely cycled because later it'll be more difficult to add.
