just got a new camera

Just got a new canon rebel xt kit
I dont know what settings Im using or any of that mumbo jumbo, I havent even opened the manual yet, lol
Some of my pics have been in the photo contest so please bear with the duplicates.

.........Now the fun begins.......Try shooting in "A" mode and fix the camera on a certain subject, then adjust the Fstop fro something like 20, the drop it a setting to 18, click another pic, then to 16 etc...All the while leaving the focus the same, you find that it helps you understand Fstop and depth of field...Congrats on the new camer... Great shot of the Mandarin..

ya ive heard alot about the whole 'fstop' thing but I havent even cracked the manual lol. Im in school and its finals week so Im all 'booked out' haha. but Im really having a blast with the camera and Im so excited to find out what it can do. thanks for the advice Ill try it out (if I can figure it out haha)

all of that from amazon for 543.00 delivered to my home. I think it was agood deal. I hope thats not a violation mods. I apolgize in advance.

These are all excellent shots, I was suprised to see these after you asked what settings I was using to capture my fish looks like you are already on the right track. The only addition advice I can give is look at the EXIF info on the pictures that turned out good and note what settings the camera used and then look at the pictures that didn't turn out and note those settings and then you will have a good baseline for what works in given situation and what doesn't.
