I think the thread has been highjacked :p,
how big is the new Rbta you got? I bets she is going to like her new home!
No highjack...
... just excited!!! She is big for my 24g..... but she is in a nice place I believe! I would say she could be 6-8 in... but I have a MH on my 24 so she is in need of streching out much! Foot on her is prob 8-9 in long too.

They can actually live forever I guess. They keep splitting. Like I mentioned earlier, the first one in the pictures has a known history of over 10 years and one split of hte original RBTA is now at Penn State in their main display tank. Their original was one of the 3 RBTA's collected from Guam, theirs ended up dieing and the local reefer here sent them a split one that is the same one that mine is now from.

Neither one of mine have moved from the original location. Well I'll take that back, the one in the 150 moved 2 inches.

What criteria did you use to place them? Because mine moved over a foot so far!
That is nice to know that their longeviety is great! That would be cool to be able to pass these on to our youngins....lol!

The first one that is in the 150g reef, I placed it according to it's previous home. I was told to go low and let the foot sink into a cave. It will then reach out from there towards the light. RBTA's do not like to have light on their foot. It's under 400W MH.
The second on in the RSM nano is placed right smack in the middle of the center rock where there is a nice crevice for it to hide it's foot. I have a Tunze 6025 powerhead having it's stream indirectly toward the front of the tank from where the flow then flows straight at the RBTA. It's under T5's.
