Okay, went to the LFS and picked up more Nutri-SeaWater and my 20lb bag of Carib Sea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink sand.

and ummm.... while I was there, I picked up a pretty Wellsophyllia brain that has green/flourescent yellow/green and purplish/pink colors in it. It went in my 29.

Alright, the weekend is coming up and I'm getting excited!~

I'm picking up my LR tomorrow late afternoon instead of Saturday, so I will actually be setting my tank up tomorrow evening.

My shipment from the Docs is scheduled to arrive tomorrow also. (50w stealth heater, Purigen, Chemi-Pure Elite, Coralife Thermometer, Ammonia Alert tag, Koralia Nano, API Saltwater Master Test Kit)
I've decided to try something different with the middle chamber. Gonna try this: (from the bottom up)
LR rubble
Strip of bonded filter floss
Bag of Chemi-Pure Elite
Strip of bonded filter floss
Bag of Purigen
Drip Tray
Strip of bonded filter floss (changed out every 2-3 days)
Sounds good to me here, but actually putting it together may be a different thing.

Thinking about doing a quick freshwater dip on my cured LR before I put it in the tank because I am absolutely terrified of getting any nasties in my tank (mantis shrimp, crabs, other unwanted hitchhiker critters) Would the quick freshwater dip render my cured LR to be uncured?
If so, then I'll just do the quick spray at the rock, hope that if something nasty is in there, it'll crawl out and pray for the best.

Updates tomorrow night or sometime Saturday!~

really nice so far=P love the pics and the filter area thing with the multi layer filter floss is cool, i actually just have my carbon on top of my filter floss but the bag of carbon is becoming dirty oh well i have to much LR in the sump to put anything else in.
Also u should get alot of paper towels and when u have the LR just throw it on top and make sure its all damp with tank water that way the rock stays moist u have no idea how quick it will dry out and stuff on the LR is sensitive to that. thats how i did it and i had no cycle.
Also don't do the fresh water dip, if u want just do the high salinity thing and that will take most of the things ur scared of away, but if i was u the odds of u getting anything harmful is really slim(b/c ur getting it from another tank, not the ocean like when u order online). As for the worms they are actually really good at keeping nitrates low and they help out with eating algae and are nice tasty treats to ur fish(my pom pom ate one today).
IF u do the salinity thing just make a bucket of the water and add ur LR in there for like 10mins each and that will take most of those things u don't want out.

Oh, I'll be here for you tomorrow for sure because I believe you're gonna have a biiiiiig update to give!~

I've decided against any kind of dip and will just look at the rock as best as I can and hope for the best!

I'll be sure to put plenty of paper towels in the bottom of the styrofoam box I use to pick up my LR with. Thanks for the tip!~

I'm hoping the multi-layer thing works out in the middle chamber. I won't put so much rubble in there; I'll make it work somehow.

Oh... and I also changed my mind about my n-a-k-e-d clowns going in this tank. I was looking at them today and they are just sooooo happy in the 29 and have their own little territories and all that I would hate to take that away from them.
So they are staying in the 29 and I am going to put the Picasso's in here.

no dip? hmmm the salt dip,if you leave the LR in there too long it will absorb too much of the salt and could effect you'r tank. The fresh water dip is safe because you only do it for 1min and it will not change you'r salt level in the tank........... or you can do no dip!
good luck either way, I hope you and I both don't get any little buggers

Whew! What a looooong day it was today! BUT... at least I've got my 14 gallon set up now!

I'm not quite happy with the aquascape just yet and plan to change it around again tomorrow. I just don't know what I want to do with it yet. I know that I want to get that Aussie elegance as my "centerpiece".... just don't know if I actually want it to be in the center and the rock work be around it, or off to one side with the rock in a semi circle from there.

So far, no signs of a cycle yet, which I am happy about.
I'm not planning on adding my CUC until Tuesday though.
I went ahead and put in a Koralia Nano, but to me, it doesn't give much added flow, so I'm either going to add another Koralia Nano, or go with a Koralia 1.
Anyway, I know you want me to stop rambling and start posting pics, so here I go. As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions, especially on the aquascape.
14 gallon Biocube
17lbs cured Carribean, Fiji and Tonga LR
20lbs Carib Sea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink LS
Chamber 1: 50w stealth heater
Chamber 2: 1.5lbs LR rubble/Filter Floss/Chemi-Pure Elite/Filter Floss/Purigen/Drip Tray/Filter Floss
Chamber 3: Stock Pump
Added: Koralia Nano powerhead
My shipment from the Docs came in just on time! (minus the Nutri Seawater; the extra Purigen and Chemi-Pure Elite goes into my 29 tomorrow)

The stock stuff that I tossed... Filter cartridge, sponge and bioballs

Tank set up.... cloudy!

All clear!~

This piece of LR has over 20 mushrooms on it!

Nice sponges...

Last shot of the night...

Super awesome aquascaping you got going on and i can now see why nwdyr wanted to pay you to come do his tank. LOL. yours looks like a pro. I love it. And i know you are going to do great with it so i dont even have to tell ya anything bout all that. Hey also i have a quick question while you are awake. i am having probs in my aquapod with my zoos, I have found 2 different rocks now that are completely disappearing :( Its like they are melting or something. do you have any iidea what is this problem ? I try to take pics of it but they wont come out good enough to tell whats going on. Thanks if u know and wonderful work on your new tank. Try not to be up at 3 am like nywdr and looking for killer crabs and all that stuff. Its fun though to bring out a red flashlight and look at all the pods and other critters crawling around though. Well goodnight and have a nice weekend.

First off KAT74's tanks are purely A M A Z I N G . . .
Then I read in one of her threads that she is planning on getting Picasso clowns!
