Ok...you know what to do
If you ever add LR again...cured, pre-cured or whatever....I would put it in a tote with SW, a PH and heater for a couple of days....this way a lot of the die off dies off in there...lessening any potential for any spikes

Yeah but I didnt care if I messed up the cycle. Maybe it will help my ammonia go down quicker

Yeah I'm going to lower it soon but it doesnt matter that the SG is so high because all I have is a brittle star and snails n some worms.

Dont they light higher SG'S anyway? No nitites and I just put the LR in about an hour ago. Its not even a lbs so i dont think itll be a big deal.

IDK if they like higher sg or not....did you test the water before you added the rock?
Just wondering if the ammonia began to rise so soon after adding the rock

Nitrate - 25 / 5.0 high and low range
Nitrite - 0
pH - 8.0
I guess the precured LR was cured? No ammonia spike, no die off? Its been 2 or 3 days since I added it

Drip Stick(based on 4 tests):
Ammonia - 0.25
Nitrate - 20
Nitrite - 0
pH - 8.0
Drip sticks are just as accurate as the normal test also much quicker

Supposedly dip stick tests are not worth the paper they are printed on....that is what most people say....
Your ammonia seems to want to stay at .25

I'm starting to develop a darker brown particle on my sand in the corners under my powerhead. What is it? Is it bad? Should I try to get rid of it?
