Kelloggi's are in their tank~ finally

No , They were from a long line of captive bred rats , actually from a rat that won competitions ,...yes....they have those for rats too...my daughters rats were bred from champions....hehe....Their actually really pretty blonds, and the male is blond/white....she plans on breeding them for their colors....calico is the rarest....going to take a pic of them in their 5 story rat mansion [ her x mas gift...sigh, thats what she wanted]

Sadly , 1 of my big kelloggi in the main tank died a few days ago....she was eating , swimming and hitching normally , I went to bed , woke up and found her laying against a rock....she must have just passed.....I'm just so bummed....no marks on her , no parasites etc....oddly enough typhoid mary and oreo are still fat and happy in the qt
My other adult kelloggi is doing well [ knocking on wood] It's so strange, eating and acting normal and dead 10 hrs later.

So sorry to hear that....I can only imagine now you will be watching your others closely, especially since there were no signs, marks or anything....

Thanks meow ,Now i'm down to 3 kellogi's and i'll be watching extra close now....I even had my water tested at the only lfs I trust [ they use salifert , not strips ] and it tested at the same readings I have ...0 amm , 0 trites , 10 trates and ph at 8.3....pics of my main tank surviver, and salty mollies and fish

pics of oreo and typhoid mary still in qt , slowly bringing the sg up from 1.009 to 1.024 ....no signs of parasites for awhile, and eating great etc....the next 3-4 weeks will be critical, as in cured or a downward spiral....but now at least I know they can survive hypo , so if they have to go back to hypo to survive , then they do

When I was a kid I had a skunk too, I think that rat was bigger. I had a cat that size. LOL
