Oh my gosh, your tank is simply stunning! Everything looks so natural and vibrant! That's exactly how I wish my tank would look. There's so much to look at and everything looks really healthy and happy. You definitely have a talent for aqua-scaping. It really looks like you've taken a chunk from some exotic reef and placed it in your home.
I love how there's all of these different levels, and how from the top to the bottom there's something really interesting and beautiful to look at. How long have you been working on this tank? How big is it?
Your Rock Anenome is so cool! How'd you get it from the beach to your home aquarium?!?! I know anenomes are really fragil and I'm super impressed you were able to do that! I love the plate coral and sun coral too. I had no idea that portal viewing devices existed, what a great idea. You're probably able to see all kinds of neat little teeny tiny creatures with that.

You know something..... I had a real baaaaaad day and I log on here and see your post, thank you! That means alot, not just from you but from all the posts.
This set up is a year old, but some of the corals were in my biocube, when I upgraded, i bought a little more.
The rock anemone was bought home in a large cooler with other critters and maco. Every stop we made, you know, to get gas, food and whatever, we did a medium sized water change and had a battery O2 pump. These anemone's are tough! hey spend more than half the day out of the water or in tide pools. We even had some ghost shrimp.
I don't have a plate coral, I think you were referring to the scolley?
Thanks again for the very nice remarks.

When I first got them I fed then every other day to get them to open and to get them healthy again. Their tenticles were short and I had to "train" them to open during feeding. Now that they are healthy, i feed them 2X a week.
My wifes Sun Corals must have spawned because now she has baby Sun Corals in various spots in her tank. Really cool to watch.
Thanks for looking!

I meant every single word!! Your aquarium is really beautiful, I can only hope that one day I'll be as 1/2 as good as you at aquascaping and reef husbandry.

Wow, what an amazing fete. In my opinion, you definitely know what you are doing! How long was it from when you picked it up to when you got it in a QT?

These are what I thought were plate coral, are these scolly?

Hi Henry
It arrives tomorrow! I'm really interested in seeing how it fits. I think I'll need to move the AquaticLife internal mini skimmer from the middle chamber to chamber #1.... and then move the heater from chamber #1 to the middle chamber. I also got some more Purigen, this time it's the type that already comes in a bag. My current bag of Purigen isn't ready to be changed yet, but I think the new one will fit better in the media basket. The media basket comes with a 'water direction' piece. Hopefully I'm able to install everything without to many problems! Wish me luck!

You will be fine, especially with that handy hubby of yours.
You may be able to keep the skimmer where it is but I am not sure of the InTank dimensions. I built my media basket with keeping the skimmer in Chamber #2. Good idea on the Purigen in a bag, tis what I use also.

Oh..... no these are monti's. I have blue rimmed and the yellow rimmed.
thanks for the compleaments.! Makes me feel pretty good.
I got the day off today, was going to clean the house but got side tracked, did a HUGE water change on the reef and the biocube, build a net top for the reef because I'm affraid my RG may want to go sky diving so..... she is now safe. I plan on getting a Humma Humma soon so I will need that in there too. This little beauty is just under an inch!! I know,,, let the bashing begin.
Well, not only do I have to clean after myself, but clean this pit!!
It took us around 13 hours to get home from S. Carolina to Indiana.
The Scolley is the big pink blob at the bottom right, sorry.
And as far as your husbandry skills....... your doing it and doing it well if I may add. Surprised Henry didn't catch that. WOOT WOOT WOOT

Fish update time. Finally had time to grab some pics.

This is odd. It's suckling on this candy cane.... MMM MMMMMM

The blurry RG..... sorry. will get better pics tomorrow and update.
I have another fish in QT. Will post later date.
Also have a Multicolored Angel and a Mandarin. The Angel was quick and the Mandarin was off eating somewhere in the back.

Oh my gosh, you have a Royal Gramma! How do you like it? I really really love your Picasso Trigger!! Is he going in your 56 gallon? I thought Trigger's had to be in really big tanks like 80 gallons or more and that they will destroy coral?? Am I wrong?

Yup, she was in the QT for almot 6 weeks, coppered her and she looks good. Before I added her I had to make a new top in case she jumps. She just cruises the tank.
As far as the trigger, He is so young and small it will take him awhile to out grow that 56. When that happens, he will go into the 120 gallon with his cousin the black trigger.
Anyone who has known me on this site knows I have wanted one of these for years, fate granted me my wish and a tiny one it granted me. So, I took it as a sign.
As far as you getting an RG, I would say, great choince.

I wipe the glass down daily with the mag float. I have a Hydor smart wave that controls my powerheads. Every day I turn both on at the same time and it sucks up the gunk off the rocks and substrate and then it goes down into my filter. I still V-dose as well.
