Thank you for the very kind words Richard. I believe you are giving me a run for my money though. :)
Did a 50% water change last night and everyone opened up to say "OLA"!! Lol

hmm... I may just do that to see if mine says that lol.
IME corals like big water changes.I have a 36 gallon container I mix my water in. I typically fill it up and do my water changes. My wife always has heart palpitations but I check and recheck the new water and the tank water to make sure things are an exact match.

My coral and mushrooms love water changes too. They open up and spread out as much as they can. I haven't heard them speak any foreign languages yet though....I'll have to listen more carefully next time...

How big is that elegance coral? It looks pretty big from the pictures!

It's about medium sized right now, but when it opens it's insanely beautiful. It has 5 mouths. As for not hearing your corals speaking to you. One has to be one with his lil animals. Lol...... or maybe it's the liquor.

Beautiful Catalaphyllia sp.Kief! In my readings on these creatures they do like dirty water and are in fact found most often in mud and grassy areas, gentle non-linear water movement, low to medium lighting and no direct feeding relying only on "photosynthesis... and nutrients that come from other biological activity in the system."
How long have you had this specimen?
I am only asking because of the discussion regarding large water changes and what should result in high reef quality water rather than the typical quality these creatures reside in.

Hi buddy! I have had this Catalaphylia sp.
now for a little over a month now and it appears to be doing great. I did however feed it a small piece of scallop before we left for Fl.
What exactly do you mean by "dirty water"? I have been doing big water changes and have seen great results in coral growth. Here lately I have been having issues with the nitrate levels.
So, I have uped my skimming and I'm getting ready to build a refugium within the next few weeks.

"this species does not live in sterile, nutrient-deprived settings... but in the wild in muddy, mucky areas semi-buried in the substrate... sometimes in the shallows of nearshore, other times at the base of reef slopes at depths of 20 meters or more."
