Kind of an emergency

Right; I thought this thread was implying that LR can not be in direct contact w/ sand. Which made no sense to me

So if I understand correctly... you bought live rock before you even bought your water? Im assuming you don't have ro/di water yet since you just had tap in your sump and dt no more than a few hours ago... how were you planning to keep it wet without the water in the first place?

All the LR is in the tote now and We know for sure that there are alive things on the rock. When letting one piece sit out the 5 minutes, one clam squirted me twice. LOL. I will start my "tank build thread" here momentarily while i upload some of the pics I took of the LR.

@socalnano24 : I actually have cut a piece of eggcrate and placed that on the bottom of the tank. I will then place the base rock ontop of the eggcrate. Once the base rock is down, I will then fill the tank with some sand and start the process of getting the live rock into the tank. The eggcrate makes for a better surface for the live rock to sit on as opposed to completely flat glass bottom.

Sparty, I believe to start off they are buying the water from the lfs...they have 13g's at home already in a tote, plus what was in the buckets with the rock

thinking that would be enough to cover the rock in the tank until they can get more

Monsinour....I think that is what I got from your posts anyway...LOL

That is correct. We should have close to 20 gallons in the tank when all is said and done. I will have to go to walmart to get another 13 gallons and brew up some more. While that is brewing, I will then run back to walmart and get another 13 gallons to brew when the first batch is done.
