With 80% of the eucalyptus forest being decimated and the other 20% unprotected and on private land, the koalas are facing declining numbers. Many koalas are dying each year due to dog/cat attacks and disease which is being spread very quickly due to living closer together since their habitat is disappearing.
I know that animals all over the world are facing the same problems, but the koalas disappearing just makes me sad.
