Koralia 3 - cold blooded murder

I installed 2 of these in my tank a couple days ago. I was pretty impressed with the water flow they create, design, magnet, etc. Anyways, I get home last night to find one of my clownfish sprawled out dead on the intake portion of the powerhead. Has anyone else had this happen?

The only way a fish would get stuck to a koralia is if it was already sick and weakened
of course I have never had this happen, but have read this many times...so this comment is not from MY own personal experienc...

I have koralias in all of my tanks. Only a sick or dead fish would become stuck to the side. Something else killed your clown. I have lost anemones to them though.

Yeah, I'm kinda buggin because my anemone started moving around when I installed them. When I left to work today, it was hanging out in the corner under the powerhead....not good....

My anemone wanders about once a month and half the time gets stuck in the intake for my nano or gets a haircut on the koralia. Its never died though and always comes back healthy, and last time it split into two anemones! (consequence of having a small tank)

WOW...you are either really lucky, or your anemone is really a cat and has 9 lives...LOL
Usually when you read of someones anemone getting into the powerhead..the result is not good

I think I should be ok with the nem. My tank is 24 inches tall and I have the koralias towards the top of the tank.

Come on Meowzer, you know my tank has no such thing as luck, at least not good luck! Either that or Karma is coming back around in the form of my anem! I'll have to post some pictures of my 1" diameter anemone and my original one which is about 5" diameter instead of 6" now! Both pulling through though, considering I was about to throw both remnants away when I originally was pulling it out of the intake!

Glad you didn't toss them...LOL...
I always keep things until I am 100% sure they are dead...I have even put a dead fish in a container...JUST IN CASE

An old nylon or other type of netting to cover the Korallias will keep anemone out of them and not inhibit too much of the flow.

The reason your anemone is on the move as you completely changed the current on him and now he's looking for that good place to live again. Usually an anemone can handle getting mangled as long as it's not too bad or too long in there.

Yeah, I figured. That's why I didn't wanna move him again today when he got up in the corner. He's gotta be thinking WTF is going on here....

BTW, what should I do now? I only have 1 true percula. Can I just go get another and all is well? Should I wait and let him mourn the loss of his brother?
