Just as a side-bar....Isn't Dr. Death Jack Kavorkian running for office there in Michigan?
That's exactly what Detroit needs... to be put out of its misery. Or maybe a humungous wall should be built around the city and then they can elect whatever gangster they want. I think we should give Detroit to Canada... maybe they'll take it off our hands.

Take the Redwings too! Then my Stars will have a better chance.
Seriously, I think we can all agree corruption on both sides of the political spectrum is totally out of hand.

I had to just bring this one back up because the soap opera is getting more humerous by the day.
Kwame's attorneys are going to try to keep the incriminating text messages out of the trial for his 8 felonies so the prosecutor has gone to the sources. She has obtained live witnesses, who are the women that Kwame has been having affairs with, to testify about his perjury.
Just yesterday, the news broke that Kwame has been accused of assaulting a police officer. Allegedly he shoved one of the officers. If you don't keep up with Detroit politics, you are missing a wild situation.
Meanwhile the FBI has tapes of Detroit City Counsel taking bribes for awarding city contracts. Gotta love this city...

It aint just Detroit. How about that clown in New Orleans. They catch him on tape taking a bribe, recover 90 grand of it from his freezer and the idiots still re-elected him and probably will again
Hopefully you guys will send this guy packing if the prosecutors cant nail him.

The funniest thing about the city counsel bribes is that they were awarding multi million dollar sewage contracts to the company with bribes of 2 or 3 grand. I'd think higher of them if they were getting $90K or so.

Yeah, who was it that had all the antique furniture and stuff from bribes? As my dearly departed Stepdad used to say if you are going to do something do it right. I think this guys booty was estimated to be worth like a million five and I am sure they didn't find all he had.

I remember watching his N word speech and laughing. Got to love him, because you can't just make this stuff up.

Okay, thats fine..as I mentioned I think he as unappropriatly taken advantage of his power and resources as mayor... I am tired of hearing about the affairs though... I don't think those are family matters and should be kept out of the workplace... But as far as the other stuff... I can't defend it, I just hate to see potenital go down the drain...
The biggest problem I have with the affairs is that they give someone else leverage over the public official. "If you don't pass this legislation to benefit me, then I'll release the news of the affair."
On the other hand, if someone cannot keep their wedding vows, will they keep the Oath of Office?

back in jail again. haha for something absolutely dumb. You'd think the guy would have spoken with the judge ahead of time and said hey. Or they would have atleast suspended the guy so the cities business isn't effected any more than it already is.

I was going to bring this one back for this update. The guy is in jail now for being an idiot and leaving the country without permission. How funny.
Gotta feel bad for his attorneys. Whatever they are making for trying to defend this fool is not enough.

I just read the story, and I think its a little overboard... He was there to discuss the tunnel/bridge or whatever that connects Windsor and Detroit.. What is it... about a 5 minute drive to get from downtown...to Windsor.

Let's not forget that his bond was already revoked for assaulting a sheriff's officer and yelling racial slurs at a pair of officers trying to serve a subpoena. This wasn't his first mistake.
Furthermore, selling the Ambassador Bridge is a HUGE MISTAKE!!! Of course it will generate some funds to assist the struggling economy now. But it will take a way an asset of the city that would generate revenue for the next 100 years or more.

Well, I'm not going to get into detroits city politics, but if this guy wants to do it then it is probably bad...
Rylan if this was "important city business" there is no reason that he could have gone to the judge before hand and asked. There is no way he doesn't know what the consequences of his actions where.

Well I don't know... the version I heard is that he directed the officer off the porch... kind like someone who sees a drop of water on a restaraunt floor and purposely slips on it so they can file suit. I don't think the officer was assulted, but just enough to say he was .. if you get what I am saying.
But leaving the country for you is the same as me crossing the street... if he actually assulted someone they should have jailed him for that... not this mess.
And I know its a struggle up there... Ohio State is looking pretty tough this year and years to come. What is this I hear about Michigan comments about fastest player in NCAA not being LSU guy?
Seriously though, until we can do something about gas...automakers will struggle... Trucks are now a luxury... If we want to employ autoworkers... fuel effieciency is the answer.

Kwame Kilpatrick is a thug. Always has been always will be.
He is a lawyer, don't tell me about 5 minute drive, he violated the stipulation of his court order and he knew he was doing it.
The police officer was there to serve papers on one of Kwame's friends so you know he was throwing his considerable wieght around with the officer.
