Well I don't know... the version I heard is that he directed the officer off the porch... kind like someone who sees a drop of water on a restaraunt floor and purposely slips on it so they can file suit. I don't think the officer was assulted, but just enough to say he was .. if you get what I am saying.
But leaving the country for you is the same as me crossing the street... if he actually assulted someone they should have jailed him for that... not this mess.
And I know its a struggle up there... Ohio State is looking pretty tough this year and years to come. What is this I hear about Michigan comments about fastest player in NCAA not being LSU guy?
Seriously though, until we can do something about gas...automakers will struggle... Trucks are now a luxury... If we want to employ autoworkers... fuel effieciency is the answer.
Quite a bit here to chew on...

I heard that Michigan claims that we have the fastest DB in the nation. I'm not quite sure, if that's true, why we wouldn't make him a receiver.
I'm not worried about Ohio State this year... you may beat us AGAIN
but you are still playing for 5th or 6th in the nation. I should mention, though that I am rooting for Troy Smith in the pros. I actually wanted the Lions to pick him up.
Autos... yeah the big 3 suck... and my wife an I both drive SUV's for now. Probably will change that when we get new cars. I may have to go with the middle age sedan look... maybe a Lincoln. Of course my wife wants the Mercedes.

Finally, back to Kwame. There is really no way to know how hard the officer was pushed without being there. Claims that this was a feather push can only have been generated by the Kwame people because how would anyone else know. And the rumor is that the attorney general is going to file an assault charge. You are right that going to Canada is a 5 minute drive from Detroit, but he was still ordered not to do it by the judge. He's still obligated to follow the conditions of his bond.
And lets not forget that an assault, legally defined, is any offensive or unconsented physical contact, regardless of whether there is any harm committed. I once had a client charged with domestic violence for throwing a pillow at his wife. There does not have to be any serious violence for there to be an assault.

I agree... Kwame may have just placed his hand on his shoulder... I just think they are trying anything and everything..... As far as the bridge thing I would think his bond should include city business because anything that envolves the city's neighbors is out of the country or state...it puts him in a tough situation to mayor the city... I think rules should be resonable, even though I concede to your point of the conditions of his bond.
As far as Michigan DB... the guy who he is being compared to participated in the Olympic trials... ran like a 10.2...he is holiday from LSU... However both are wrong because Walter Dix of FSU just ran a 9.8 something and is going to the Olympics.
Troy Smith is a quality QB... he should be the starter for Baltimore, but probably won't.
If we beat USC, because are team is loaded... 3rd NC... last year was supposed to be rebuilding year

I'd like to buy that judge a drink. Kwame sounds like an arrogant punk who needed to get slapped down a few pegs.

Felonious Assault .......?
That's ridiculous.... they really have it in for this guy... I wonder who recommended the charges... Anything more than simple battery is way overboard... and I think even that charge is probably too much..
I wonder why it isn't it Assault against a police officer?

Rylan, I think that's what the attorney general intends to do. There was no injury or weapon involved so the charges will likely be assault on an officer and obstruction. These charges would be completely appropriate based on the facts. Let's not be a kwame apologist here... What gives this guy the right to put his hands on an officer to prevent him from completing his duties?

$50,000 cash bond no 10%.
Tether.
No travel.
These are the new stipulations for bond on Kwame. Next step is to see what the attorney general does on the other incident.

(WXYZ) Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is expected to be arraigned on felony assault charges either later today or early tomorrow. An arrest warrant has been issued.
Attorney General Mike Cox announced the charges a short time ago. He says Michigan State Police officers are expected to pick the Mayor up at the Wayne County Jail, where he is currently being processed for release after spending the night in jail.
The charges stem from an incident on the Mayor's sister's porch a little over two weeks ago. They allege that the Mayor assaulted two police officers as they were trying to serve a warrant on the Mayor's friend Bobby Ferguson.

In the Tressel Era, OSU has owned Meechigan. I'm looking forward to a great game with the Wolverines to cap off a great season.
If Mayor Kwame is dirty, then thow the book at him for breaking the public trust and his Oath of Office. Words do have meaning.

Kwame put hands on a law enforcement officer who was attempting to serve a subpoena on one of Kwame's fine upstanding friends. That would be assault and if interfering with a peace officer is a felony in Mich that would make it feloniuous assault. This guy is a disgrace to the city of Detroit.

Kwame update...
The governor is holding a removal hearing as we speak. If he gets removed from office then that pretty much eliminates his only negotiating chip in his criminal cases.
Yesterday, his attorneys filed an action in Circuit Court claiming that the governor does not have the authority to remove him. He lost and the Court of Appeals heard an emergency appeal at 5:30pm yesterday, which he also lost.
As an aside, he is now being sued for approximately $80K by his previous attorney for not paying fees. And the EMS driver who brought the now-dead stripper to the hospital has come forward. He indicated that the stripper was injured while working at the mayor's party when his wife beat her with a baseball bat. The EMS driver had not come forward sooner because he claimed that he received anonymous threats to his life.

Can you imagine that happening? Wife comes home early and you are watching a stripper. She goes and grabs a baseball bat, and starts swinging. You can't make this stuff up...

I've heard of a potential deal dropping any criminal cases and he would resign.. Question... what does a person do after a situation like this with their life and career?
3rd I thought she was found like 3 weeks later dead.. in an alley or something.. Third, why didn't EMS or hospital get police involved after assult... I don't get why EMS testiomony has to do with case... was he also at the party? Did he know when he found her that she had a connection w/ Kwame?

I'm curious, why waste your time trying to defend Kwame?

Allegedly, he wasn't just watching her... she was ALLEGEDLY performing a highly intimate act on the mayor when the wife came in.

No deal has been made yet. The Wayne County Prosecutor has offered him to resign, plead on some of the felonies (I don't remember how many), drop the others, max of 6 months in jail with probation after and he could not run for any office for 2 years. On the Attorney General's 2 felony assault offenses, they have offered for him to plead to one and dismiss the other with the sentencing to be up to the judge.
The reason this witness has now come out is that the dead stripper's family has a wrongful death lawsuit against the mayor. This is why the EMS witness has come forward... for that civil lawsuit.

I'm not defending or accusing... but just trying understand what the EMS workers story has to do with case... What evidence could he have that wasn't turned over.

Well, the story was buried, the hospital reports disappeared, the police report disappeared and, likewise, the stripper herself was killed shortly afterwards. This evidence clearly can be used to discredit Kwame, who has claimed that the party never happened, and it can be used to show a motive for causing the death.

what is the story w the stripper... I assume they have no suspects since the suit, is the family alledging the wife hired someone? Why not just divorce the husband if he cheated? I don't know... her death is likely to be completely unconnected given her job..and background... (I don't have any info to suggest this claim, I don't think the family does either)
