Just out of curiousity what kind of music do you like?
I've always said the only thing you need for good music is a blues guitar and a harmonica...
I love blues, Jazz, older country, like texas swing, outlaw country and texas country, .
Stuff that is on my eyefone.
For Blues is Mississippi Fred McDowell, moreland and arbuckle.
The Jazz my favorite is piano, so like Bill Evans, Jr. Mance, ABOSULTELY nothing synthesized. That bleeds into Jazz vocals, like Ella, Luis, then some more modern stuff like Norah Jones, Diana Krall.
The blues also bleeds into stuff like ZZ Top.
And to my absolute favorite Willie Nelson. Who plays an AWESOME blues guitar...
Which brings me into country.
My other favorites are George Straight, Randy Travis, and Allan Jackson and some Garth Brooks. I'll listen to the other Nashville crowd but I don't really go out and buy their CD (although Carrie Underwood has an absolutely amazing voice)
The Outlaws are probably my all time favorites like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings (and to a lessor extent Johnny Cash) But I do really like some of the more classic country like Dolly Parton, Marty Robbins, Charlie Price etc... There is an unknown guy named Don Walser who never really made it until he got older. His music reflects his German roots (lots a germans in central Texas) and western swing (yes that means some yodeling) He did a song on the Big Lebowski (tumbling tumbleweed) Another one of my favorites.
Then I do Texas country like Corry Morrow, Robert Earl Keen, Houston Marchmen, Pat Green (an example he's not my favorite).
I do like me some zydeco too...
Lady Ga Ga is only famous because she's weird as all get out. (which I would be too if I could get paid that much money)
