Only reason I bought the generator was for the tank. I have a lot (as we all do) invested in my set up so I suggest if you can swing it, that everyone buys a generator.
Power outage for any length of time = something dying, guaranteed.
I have a generator also.....actually bought it before the SW tanks, BUT did have FW....I also have 2 inverters....One small one that works off a cigarette lighter in the car, and a bigger one that works off a car battery....
One night we lost power, and after 3 hours I started panicking....so got the husband up....we hooked up the generator....ran all the cords....turned it on
AND
DUHHHHH The power came on.....LOL....BUT it was a blown transformer so who knew how long that could take to fix
just having the generator gives me a little peace of mind
