Yeah, like you said on AIM-you don't have a protein skimmer, haven't done a water change, and dont know your water parameters!! All things you should do!! Not knowing your water parameters is a problem, and the brown algae and the coral not opening should be sending up a red flag!!!! Test your water for ph, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate at the VERY LEAST. Do a water change! And ASAP buy a protein skimmer! If you don't act fast, you could lose your precious clowns!

Do you have bristleworms? From the way it sounds, your tank sounds unhealthy-bristleworm heaven. When the polyps open, does it look like something may have eaten it? If so, bristleworms are probably eating them...

Well, from you seeing one, and based on the info you've given me-it sounds like it. You said the polyps normally have 6 little thingys but now they only have 3-hmm...they dont just fall off!

no-you can tick the coral off, but it opens in a few minutes...your tank does not sound healthy at the moment, and I think THAT is the problem...

i went to my most reliable lfs(an hour away  )
and the guy said that the clumpy stuff is from too much feeding(ive stopped that already)
and from using tap water(going to stop that)
i know he knows what i was talking about because i told him the color and he finished describing the stuff to me
its so hard going there and not buying anything though
