Lifegard SeaHorse Pump?

Anyone use one? I've found a deal on a used 3/4 HP pump. My dream is to have at least a 180 gallon tank with the sump in basement. Would this pump be sufficient? Overkill? I won't need it for quite some time

Probably over kill. 3/4 hp pump is what I run on my pool filter. 16,000 gallon pool. The one on their website also requires a 240v supply.
Edit: they have a 3/4 for an above ground pool that uses a 120v supply as well. Still seems a bit strong through.

I had a large sump in the basement. It has a lot of advantages but you don't need all of that waterflow going through your sump. 500gph is plenty. Use a closed loop for the majority of your waterflow.
