I'm going to suppose you mean they cost less than half of what you pay currently. I don't think anybody can tell you the "differents" or the difference without knowing what bulbs you are talking about.

There are a few hobbyist that may have at one time or another have tried these bulbs(Plusrite). And I just want to get there opion. I know in this hobby you get what you pay for, but on the other hand there is a deal to be made here and there.

Agreed. So what type of bulbs are you using now? Plusrite are the cheaper ones you found?

I believe Plusrite is a distributor as well as a manufacturer. I am not certain but it looks like the OSRAM 400 20,000K MH is being distributed by Plusrite so that might be the bulb being sold.
The PAR for 400 watt 20,000K bulbs varies from 50 (South Pacific Sunlight) up to 150 (Happy Reefing & Radium). The Osram is in the middle with around 100.
And then, it could be a different bulb altogether. %%

With all the money we spend in this hobby what's a few more bucks.

I work with Plusrite bulbs all the time. They are cheap for a reason, they have the highest failure rate of any bulb I've ever used. Fair warning
