Lighted hood on a sump????

I know a hood on a SW fish tank is a no no....However what about the sump? I have a regular fish hood and light...The evaporation is in the sump, the top tank where critters will dwell has a nice ripple. So what do you experts say, can I cover the sump to slow evaporation and slow salt creep from my fuge?
Next question...The lamp on this light says 20w (2 pin) Fluorescent...will any 2 pin fluorescent bulb fit in the hood as long as it is 20w?
I would like to put a 10K bulb in this for keeping macros in the fuge.

I have a hood on my refugium, but open top on my tank so I don't see why not. It's worked fine for me.

how long is the bulb you now have

Thanks anyway Joe...All the 10k lights areT5s...I was not asking for the right thing anyway...most plants need 6500k...10K on a refugium was not correct. Anyway I got a plant light bulb for the refugium that fits the standard FW fishlights. 24" fluorescent bulb 20w w/2 pins. So I should be able to grow macros in the fuge. I have a 10K T5 bulb on the seahorse DT and an actinic 420/460 so I'm all set on lighting.

Thanks Joe, that's a keeper site for sure.
I asked for a 2 pin, 20 watt 6500K fluorescent bulb and the site said no results found...so I guess if that awesome site doesn't carry it, it must not exist. I did look through a macro algae book and it said the grow lights from the regular standard fish lights were enough for many macros so I should be fine with what I purchased after all...my turtle grass was on the list.
