Thanks Cranberry - I have been reading about them I don't think it will be worth the risk. I will get one figure out the sex and then maybe another one, should be fun my son like's all the differnt stuff, he is not the nemo kind of kid. Did you read about my plans to run it with my 65 gallon reef, do you see any problems with that I am going to upgrade my skimmer and get an ATO once and for all. Thanks for your reply, much appreciated - I figured you two may have missed it so I bumped it.

When I upgrade my tank, I will be using the 55 as lion tank. I haven't decided which one I will get.
I took these pics at the aquarium:

So Mr. BTLDreef (LOL) decided that our spare 40G should get turned into a display refugium for the new 180 reef. I don't think it would be all too wise to put dwarf in among the macro algaes, etc. Thoughts?
Once the 155 is done being used to hypo the fish, I might be turning that into a FOWLR with a Fu (since I just think they're awesome) and a dwarf (undecided which one). I really want to do some filefish as well. I just have a soft spot for them. Haven't put a whole lot of thought into what else would go with them, possibly the new Yellow Belly Hippo Tang I got today, but I'm really enjoying the looks of it in the reef.

Well I thought I would add some pictures of my new lion fish tank, the 40 breeder set up with my 65 reef - sump/fuge.

Well I want a fuzzy dwarf - but today I was at the LFS and they had a really nice dwarf zebra lion. He looked really good, thay have had him for about 3 weeks now. When I looked at him he actually turned to look at me. Had good color - I think I am going to go back and ask them to feed it in front of me.

Very nice, and are those yellow polyps really that yellow. Very pretty, most you see are pale.
Thanks T, These have been under some low light for the last couple of weeks, I like them like this I was thinking of tucking them in a cave to stay like this. They normally look like the picture, I didn't want to put these back in the reef because they really sprad fast, I just want softies and a few LPS in the liontank, and macroalgaes.

Most "display" fuges are set up more like DT's, so they really aren't "packed" with macro, which is what prompted my question. As for nutrient export, whether the lion is in the fuge or the reef, it's all the same. If you don't want additional nutrients in the system, don't get a pred. However, consider the fact that you really only need to feed the lion 3x a week or so as opposed to feeding a reef daily or multiple times a day.

Regarding the nutrient factor, I had planned on the lion being in a completely separate system from the reef. I wanted the refugium to be solely for nutrient export and maybe to house my pistol shrimp/Yasha goby since I think they'll get lost in a large reef. I really would like to have a separate fish only setup with some macro in the display, very similar to your tanks, since I just love the design.
