They said my salinity was a little high, but it wouldnt be enough to cause all this.. I added fresh RO water, so it should be perfect now.

I know, but I have no access to one right now. There were no traces of ammonia, nitrate, nitrite or anything. Not any. Salinity was a little high but I fixed that.

Do NOT dose the rest of the Furan into your display. Could you please post exact water specs for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, sg, and temp? Have you added anything new recently? If he has been fine and eating all along then it sounds like something is not right with the water. A better diet is needed, but that isn't the immediate concern.

I can probably try to buy a water test kit tomorrow. I can do temp and salinity- temp 79 degrees, salinity 1.022
The only new thing I have added was the medication. Yes, he has been eating fine and doing well all along except today, and for the past maybe week he has been acting a little weird.

Please buy a quality kit. My guess is that the water wasn't the best in the world to begin with, He finally started reacting. Meds were added to the display which made matters worse. We need to know the Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and PH. It would be a good idea to mix up some extra water for a water change.

From reading through this it sounds and looks like he had a bacteria infection in the eyes. This frequently requires treatment with antibiotics which has to be done in a QT.
Sorry for the loss.

Oh snap! I was about to post what I would do. Nothing I would have suggested would have worked in time if I answered earlier. :-( Sorry.

Just out of curiosity Beth -- Do you believe it was an infection based off of the fact that the fish was swimming with its head down? Or did that not alarm you? I ask this because my yellow tang died a while back and I still don't know why (although I believe it may be because of the stress of putting it in a hospital tank right from the moment I got it), but wanted to find out if it may have been a result of an infection as well.
