I just thought it would be a neat idea if we had a list on here of critters that were bad in a tank. Like aptasia, those nails that eat other snails.... I'm not a newbie but even I might learn something from it. Maybe one of the moderators could but one together???
Just an idea....

Cirolanid Isopod. But only a few of the Cirolanids are carnivores. Most eat detritus.
I think most of the animals listed here are not bad, just inappropriate for a mixed tank. Mantis on a species tank are a lot of fun. They're pretty smart for a "bug".
I can see Aiptasia Anemone as being something easy to grow in a nano that a small child might be thrilled with. They're a whole lot more exciting than a Venus Fly-Trap IMO.

just curious what makes gorilla crabs bad. I've had 2 and took them out because it was recommended on this board (a while back). I never really asked why.

They grow up to be quite large and will gladly eat a sleeping fish.

Coral Banded Shrip screwed with my nice tank vibe. I had a managuense for 6 years and it grew to 14" in my 40 gallon. It was like it starting all over again with the punk CBS
HorseShoe Crabs! You never see them till they eat up everything in your sandbed. They they run around till they die. Mine is doing it not I think.
Decerator Crab. Not unless you have a fatty tank with a lot of stuff. It was destroying everything and puting it on his back and then not liking it. I only had a few things to make it happy.
The last bad thing was when I had my south american FW tank and a pack of ciggs fell in over night and the water was brown in the morning and all my fish were on a nicotein high. Tons of carbon and a water chage fied that in a few hours. Stupid me!

to let you know what "drunk fish do"....
A few New Years ago, someone "accidentally" poured a 12oz cup of Bud Lite into my 55 gallon Brackish tank. Water gets SUPER cloudy. The tank gets a rich, foamy head on it, most of your inhabitant die.
Not as fun as when I get drunk, no sir...
