Many years ago my buddy put a feeder goldfish in a bowl with 25% beer and 75% water for a few minutes. Than he put it back in his holding tank. It swam sideways and ran into the glass for about 5 minutes. Than it was fine it lived for a long time until he fed it to his oscar.

I believe that's actually just coraline, the snail they're talking about usually has a twisted cone shell.

Sheracr, That did not happen in my tank thankfully.
and that does not appear to be a whelk, the picture is alittle distorted. Most whelks have cone type shells like the one I posted.
Zibnata,
It isnt a movie at all. I turned it into an animated gif so i could post it on the board. If you notice the play buttons and all that dont really work. :)

Worse than a Whelk.... it's a Murex Snail.
Possibly the Adusta Murex.

There are thousands of species of Murex. Every single one is a carnivore. Coral, Clams, Snails, etc. It will eat anything it can catch.
It's a pretty snail and can be easily kept in a species tank. You might try feeding it scallops or Clams.
It DOES NOT!!!! belong in a reef tank.

the pink thing on the glass is a murex snail? It doesn't have a noticable shell. Wow, I'd better tell my LFS that it's a snail and not coraline like they told me, lol.

OH. I just now looked at the second pic. What about the pink stuff that looks exactly like the first pic but doesn't have a shell?
