Hey, what part of Maryland do you live in, there is a place in glen burnie that sales good rock but it is $10lbs but if you buy more than 100lbs they sale it for $6.00 lbs. They have a websit also seasavedotcom in glenburnie. They only deal in Saltwater fish

do a search online also you can find some great deals on rock and some stores offer free shipping on it alot of times it comes in 45-50 # box lots for just over 100$ depending on where your looking.
just research the store before you purchase.

I would suggest you take a look at seasave and also Exotic Aquatics. I personally havent been to seasave because they are only open on saturday but exotic is a verrrry nice store and they have some nice lr, its where i got all of my lr. Also if you dont mind a drive to lancaster PA, that fish place is a crazy huge store with loads of cheap stuff and live rock.

picking your live rock is essential in your cycle times and water quality when first setting up. i have been flamed many times here for having as much as i have in my tank already (and for respect of the flamers, i am not saying it is ok for him to do the same). i had a coral specialist come to my house to set up my tank, he insisted on this certain indo-pacific rock. its the best, most colorfull, full of life, rock i have seen (i paid $9 a lb for it -normally $12 but over 100lbs so it was discounted). my point is, dont go cheap on the rock. find the best you can. and best doesnt always mean most expensive. i wish i knew a place up there where you could get this rock, it has made all the difference in my tank. good luck with your tank.
