picking your live rock is essential in your cycle times and water quality when first setting up. i have been flamed many times here for having as much as i have in my tank already (and for respect of the flamers, i am not saying it is ok for him to do the same). i had a coral specialist come to my house to set up my tank, he insisted on this certain indo-pacific rock. its the best, most colorfull, full of life, rock i have seen (i paid $9 a lb for it -normally $12 but over 100lbs so it was discounted). my point is, dont go cheap on the rock. find the best you can. and best doesnt always mean most expensive. i wish i knew a place up there where you could get this rock, it has made all the difference in my tank. good luck with your tank.
