Live Rock?????

easy question - zero pounds!:D :D
See I know SOMETHING about salt tanks!
Sorry, it depends on what you're using the tank for. General rule for good filtration is 1 - 1.5 lbs. per gallon. It all depends on type of rock, density, and type of tank.
Give more info. and I can give more advice.
Sorry about the joke I couldn't pass it up.

None is the minimum amount.
What filtration are you using, have you got Live Sand.

A deep Live sand bed can easily provide all the required filtration so you really don't need any rock.

It is best to have both. But again, depends on what creatures you have in the tank. LR also provide places for litle creatures to hide.

Since when???? Almost every post on this board recommends DSB and LR when a filtration question is asked.
If I had just bought ££££££ 's of LR and then found out it wasn't needed I'd be pretty cheesed off.

LR provides grazing for many fish, provides a place to attach corals and it's very very decorative and reef-like. I don't believe it's required for a fish-only id you have a DSB. I also don't believe a DSB is required if you have a lot of live rock. Having both is ideal.
