lol! Speg, I am married.

I have absolutely no idea how many calories a day that I am eating. I'm really starting to pay attention to food labels right now. I am not eating any foods that have hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. I'm also not eating any canned foods. The only red meat that I am eating is Deer sausage and Deer hamburger. I am mainly eating chicken and various fishes (whitefish, cod, flounder, tuna, salmon, tilapia) I'm eating a lot of veggies and trying my best to stay away from carbs. I just weighed myself this morning and I was 225 pounds. My main goal is to be under 200 pounds - so ......

25.1 pounds to go!!!

haha. I'm going to try to stay in the 190s for the rest of my life. Now that I have lost a lot of weight, it's harder to burn off the calories during exercise. So, now it's just keeping up with a routine, switching it up every now and then and watching what and how much I eat. I also realize that this isn't just a one year thing. The choices that I am making should be part of my lifestyle for the rest of my life... and I am so excited about that.

Anyways, that's as much of an update as I got right now. Take it easy everyone!

So, I gained a little weight a while ago. I went up to almost 235 pounds! So, I hunkered back down and I have started losing a little weight. Today I am 224 pounds, and I hope to get under 202 pounds by December.

I am really watching what I am eating and I am getting more and more into exercising on a regular basis. I found a workout plan that I have been doing for the last couple of weeks. I have been going to bed early in the evening and trying my best to wake up at about 5am every day to get started.

Well, thats all for now.

hi, thank you for the reply socal. I woke up and weighed myself this morning and I weighed 223.4. I'm going to wake up in the morning and jog again. I've been doing really well exercising for the last two weeks or so. I'm going to wake up and go exercise again in the morning. I finally clocked how many times it takes to go around the block to reach a mile - it takes 5 times. wooohooo. So, I can wake up and jog a mile or two or whatever I want in the mornings now and know how many times it takes me. It's like reaching a goal - I like that sort of thing.

I've also been really paying attention to my stomach lately. Like, when I eat, I realize how full I am and when I'm not hungry anymore I stop eating. I know it sounds so simple to ya'll, however to a fat guy, it's not so easy to stop eating food that is sitting in front of you still. I know everything will be fine though because I live in a society where food is not scarce. It's just hard to stop eating it sometimes. Also, I realized how much juice and milk I was drinking and I have cut back a lot on that. Throughout the day, if you don't think about it, you drink all of that juice and milk and coke and your eating an extra one or two meals a day! That's a lot of calories that you can take out of your diet if you try.

Well, that's all for now. Good luck to everyone who's trying to lose weight and is in the same rut that I was. Thanks for reading!

Well, I'm staying in my 220s which is a good thing. At least I haven't ballooned up into my 230s again. My problem now is not paying enough attention to my stomach. I think that's something that Americans have wrong - a bad mind set toward food. The reason why I don't pay attention to my stomach is because I paid for the food in front of me and by God or high water I am going to eat all of it regardless if I am full or not. I think a lot of people have that in common with me. I think if I just pushed the food away from me when I am full I would cut a ton of calories. Even if I just keep eating what I enjoy eating, but push it away and/or throw it away when I am full. That way I am not tempted to eat more of it after I am full. I never realized how much I overate until I have been paying attention to it for the last couple of weeks. Now, it's time to come up with a game plan.

By the way, if you switch from drinking coke/sweet tea/ sports drinks to just plain tap water, you can/will loose up to 28 pounds per year! AH! I quit drinking soda and I dropped 30 pounds in two and a half months, so I know it's true!

Alright - Progress.
I decided that if I was really serious about loosing weight that I needed to get over this plateau and stop making excuses. I'm simply eating more food than my body needs. I have thought about this a lot, and came to the realization that you need to eat until you are not hungry, rather than saying that you are going to eat until your full. This has really changed my diet a lot.
I am currently 222. I have lost 3 pounds in the last two weeks - which is a good rate. I'm also doing this with just diet alone. I haven't really done much cardio or else I would probably loose a ton more! So, I guess I have to get a good routine going here in the next few weeks and keep it up. I'm really confident that I will get under 200 pounds now.
Thanks everyone for reading.

alright - more progress. Even though it's been about 20 days since I last reported in. I am currently 218.2 pounds. So, that's about 4 more pounds lost since the last time I reported in. I am finally in the teens. lol! I'm soo excited about it. Now I can't wait to get close to my 210's. I'm starting to execurcise more in the evenings. I'm trying to wake up in the morning 30 minutes earlier so that I can go for a jog early in the morning. I'm trying to get in 4 miles a day, and have been successful in this new task for the last five days.
I've also cut back on food intake. My wife still likes to eat pizza at least once a week - so naturally I have to have a few pieces too. I still eat popcorn at the theater - but I am just now starting to bring my own bottled water, so we don't have to pay for a coke. I've started to identify extra foods and snacks in my diet that I can either portion restrict or completely cut out of my diet.
It might take a while still - but I WILL loose the rest of the weight. I plan to get down to at least 190. I will get there. I will!!!!

so, no progress, still staying at around 218. I've been slipping up on my eating habits, but all of that is about to change. I'm going to be moving to a new apartment in the city and my wife and I are going to leave all of our old "bad for you" groceries behind and concentrate on the good foods. IE, fish, lean meats, veggies, fresh fruits, nuts and some whole grains. We are planning on cutting out a lot of the other excess food that we like (IE occasional binges of icecream) and so on and so forth. I think it will work out. Plus, the place that we live at right now doesn't offer much in the way of feeling safe and secure when you go out for a jog. When I do go for a jog, I have to run with a baseball bat and knock out the dogs in the trailer park that bite my ankles. So... Yeah, so many more things that are going to change before the end of the month for the better. I'm sure that this next year I am going to be able to get my weight down where it needs to be in time for Summer... AKA: Beach ready body! woot woot! I can't wait to go to the beach this Summer.
Anyways, that's all for now. Talk to ya'll later!

alright. So, a little progress. I am now 214 pounds. It's slowly coming off, thank God.
I'm actually going to join the military soon. I am taking the next three months to try to get down to 185 pounds so I wont be put on a "fat body" weight loss program. I have to loose about 10 pounds a month - or just over 2 pounds per week. I've done it before, and I'm sure I can do it now. I know it's not healthy do to... infact, when I went to the doc, they tested my blood and my iron level was low. So, now I'm taking an iron supplement and a multivitamin to combat the effects of rapid weight loss.
So far I have lost 58 pounds. I have about 29 to go before I can join the service! I can do this! Anyone have any tips?

ugh, I guess the military idea was just a childish dream. For one, I don't know if they would actually take me. Two, I don't know if I want to risk my marriage and three: what in the world would I do anyways?
So, I have been thinking about jobs that just fall into my lap. Well, I have been working for my father for the last six years and learning his trade... and it seems like all I am trying to do is get away from working there. While that idea is good and all, I never really accepted that maybe that is the trade I should get into as a career. So, a career may fall into my lap after all.
So, anyways, as of this morning I was 213.8 pounds. Not much in the way of weight loss,... but it's all slowly coming off over time. I just have to keep working at it and say no to temptation and keep working out.
I'm thinking about paying an extra $30 a month for an anytime fitness gym membership. Maybe paying for a gym will make me get motivated enough to start working out more often. One thing I hate to do is waste money!
I really really really want to get down to 185 and stay under 200 for the rest of my life if I can help it. Words of motivation anyone?

My wife goes to body renew. it doesnt have all the fancy things like spasa dn swimming pools, but its got all the machines and excersize equipment adn you get a key and can go in any time.
its 35 bucks a month and you get access to thier website which helps you track calories, sodium, fats and other stuff by entering in exactly what you ate that day.
amazingly it has like every food known to man by quantity and brand name so you get exact results.
She is having a real hard time staying under the daily reccoemended for sodium for some reason (Note don't eat ham if you want to make that goal LOL)
they are having a biggest loser competition at her work and she's currently in second place, she lost 5 lbs in her first two weeks and has been religiously going to the gym and working pretty good during that time.
She also stopped all soda and alchol intake. (The alchol is hard for her)
