I have a 29 gallon reef tank currently with PC lights. They need replacing but I'm looking into upgrading them. I am looking into new fixtures for under $200 that will make a big improvement to the tank. Please help with suggestions. I know very little about upgrading lights. Thanks.

Look into T5HO....I have a Sundial on my 29G and I love it....you can keep anything in there
just put Sundial T5HO lighting in your search engine.....of course there are other brands, I only have experience with this one

try to spend a little more now and u will save $$ later. look for a t5 fixture with 4bulbs with individual reflectors, or get a 150 mh fixture.

Or Coralife Aqualight Dual Lamp High Output Fixture? This one is cheap.
I just looked it up and it looks like it only has 2 bulbs I'd say NO

And would it be possible to just put better bulbs in my current Coralife fixture?
No I do not believe you can put T5 bulbs in a pc fixture
Hope this helps

That does help thanks. And for the sundial T5HO does anyone else have experience. I can find it for $200. Approximately how much will replacement bulbs cost when needed? Thanks again for the help.

what is ur plan for the 29 gallon? what corals or inverts r u looking to keep? if its mostly softies and lps, then the coralife 4 t5 fixture would do.

It currently has some soft corals that are slowly dying off. Has a massive frogspawn that is doing quite well, and it has a brain that is doing just fine. Inverts keep dying off but I'm not sure that has anything to do with the lights. The polyps are kinda dull in color and I think that going to a better bulbs would brighten them up.

The nitrates are a little high but I think that could be from 2 year old bulbs. And the fact that 2 of the four PC bulbs don't come on.
